Did you do a version of the Evil Horde as well? I searched through your gallery and I can't find it.

That said, I love the three group pictures of the heroes, evil warriors and snake men you did. Brings back a lot of good memories. The snake men especially, since my brother and I owned all of their figures except for Tung Lashor and Kobra Khan.

Kobra Khan: But cmon, guys! I wanna join the Snake Men!

Rattlor: Name one thingΒ you do that's snake-related.

Kobra: Well, I... um... freeze people with my spit?

Hiss: Get out. Now.

Well, he IS a kobra. It's in his name.

Wow. So that's what the original Filmation King Hiss looked like. Interesting. I grew up with the MYP remake and I'm sorry to say, I like his character design a lot better.

However, this is incredible artwork as always!

Actually, King Hiss never made an appearance in the original cartoon. Only as a toy and in the minicomic it was packaged with. I don't think Sssqueeze or Snake Face made it into animated form either.Β

And interestingly enough, the two that actually did make an appearance (working for the Horde, I might add) looked nothing like their toy counterparts:Β mikescollection.files.wordpres…

But like you, I greatly prefer the MYP versions of the characters.

Wow, thanks for the info. I know next to nothing about the Filmation MOTU and its characters.

I prefer MYP in general. Better writing, plot, characterization, etc.

You're welcome. ^^ I'm no expert, but I love MOTU lore, and although I grew up with the MYP series, I like to pull from different sources to create my perfect headcanon. Though I'll admit, it can get pretty confusing. XD;

I honestly do the same with other series. I use head canon with the stuff I like best.

I hardly knew anything from the original series and just a little even from the the MVC comics. I haven't been able to read many of the MVC comics at all sadly. I would love to read The Shard of Darkness somehow......

The comic are... interesting. I have the Rise of the Snake Men trilogy, and it's pretty much just like the episodes, but a little more graphic. Also, I was never completely satisfied with the art style of the comics. Some of the characters can look pretty weird.

The Shards of Darkness? Never read it myself, but I believe the pages are available for viewing here: www.he-man.org/publishing/subs…

I only have the first issue of the Rise of the Snakemen MVC comics. But I did notice that the art style changed a lot and didn't always look so good either.
For example, King Hiss' design had many different forms as I read a few of the later issues and many times he looked weird.

Oooh! Many thanks! :-D I keep hearing about how good it is from many other MOTU fans so I've been wanting to find out for myself. It looks like that website has all of the others too! You're awesome! Now I can get caught up with the MVC comics!
