Description a bit more on one of my species.
Dont ask me about the pose, he's fab.

Lots of leather and different kinds of furs to keep warm. log strips of fabric keep on thinner furs while the normal shirts they would usually wear are too thin for winter. The skins of some scaly creature act as minimal amour while the furs sewn into the undersides of it help again with the heat. A ring of painted horns are placed on the back of his head and a small cloth over his forehead and horns, these are more than likely purely decorative and/or religious. Bone fashioned daggers hang on ether hip, one is straight and one is crooked.
The excessive amounts of fur are rendered useless when you realize that the poor child is waist deep in ice-cold water and probably has hypothermia. Β

More info on Ferus
The Ferus are for the most part nomadic, living mainly on the plains and valleys between the mountain ranges to the east and west of them. They find very little raw materials for any sort of smithing and are thus vastly unlearned in the skill. Instead, they work expertly with leathers and furs and form weapons via more primitive means like carving stone, wood, and bone.
Their hard, shell-like patches on their skin (the dark spots) makes retaining heat difficult since they are incapable of growing hair or of properly absorbing heat wherever they form which is usually covering the majority of the body. As such, it is of the utmost importance that they really keep warm during the colder months so they dont freeze to death. These patches, however, arent an inconvenience . They also provide a strong sort of exoskeleton for extra protection and can temporarily form wherever mild-to-heavy amounts of pressure are applied (eg. bruises, cuts) or permanently if the impact is repeated (getting continuously punched in the face ). It is not uncommon for adolescents to purposefully damage their own skin so that the patches will form where they otherwise wouldn't.

I dont feel like typing out any more info rn so I'll just give more in my next Ferus post.

So pretty :3 At first glance the tree line looks like it's his horns, communion with nature and all *w*

I love it, the composition is really good!

Good job on that!
