I see you're beginning to employ some hatching techniques.

It felt appropriate for the less saturated look I was going for in these designs. Also kind of inspired by whoever does the art for Final Fantasy Tactics.

I just noticed the wheel on the bottom of the white knight's shield, was that there before? It's really cool. Also, the whistle/smokestack thing on the Iron Knight's helmet is just plain great.

The wheel helps the k'night move along with his shield forward. He, along with other k'nights, would line up together, creating a shield wall similar to the Spartan Phalanx. Although you can't see from this angle, there's actually a smaller, lighter shield hidden within the big one, which is more suited for skirmishing and one on one combat.

That's a really clever idea, where the big shields form basically a movable wall, and then they use the smaller, inner shields if the phalanx breaks. Question: Can the wheel turn so the shield can roll sideways? Then they could use the Tortoise Formation!

I'm sure it could! Although I didn't fully detail the mechanics here, talking about it kind of makes me want to draw out a whole schematic just for the shield!

That would be cool! Is the shield-shaped lump where the inner shield is stored?

Yeah. I haven't designed what the smaller shield looks like, but it's probably more of a buckler style shield, one that straps directly onto the forearm for quicker movements.

That's my favorite kind of shield! Also a really clever battle tactic.
