Description
My take on Mysterio. In my concept he's a theatrical masked stage magician who's illusions are so impressive that he is able to claim to posses actual magic powers. Spider-man, however, stumbles on a connection between Mysterio and the Kingpin and the hero finds that Mysterio has been robbing his entranced audiences and funneling the money to the world of organized crime in exchange for a cut of the profit. Spider-man exposes his scheme and his identity, Quentin Beck, to the world, and Mysterio swears revenge. That's a decent origin I think.

Design wise he was hard but fun to figure out. I wanted him to look more like something real than just a weird comic book villain, but at the same time I wanted to retain the fishbowl, as I think it's too emblematic of Mysterio to drop. It took me a while to find the masked magician angle, but once I did, it all fell into place.
