Well howdy there. If you saw this:
- you'll recall that I found a grunge halftone brush tutorial. Welp, though I said I may never use the technique now I had it, here's another one! 'sabout time I drew Sammi again. Thought this halftone look would suit her, and yeah, I like it!
This isn't exactly polished because it wasn't really supposed to be. Working with rougher materials prevents me from being so much of a perfectionist; here if my brush misses a spot or a bit of colour goes over the lines, that's actually preferable and enhances the grungy retro effect! I also didn't spend too much time on the construction of the drawing because A) it was supposed to just be a warmup sketch and B) I actually really liked how it turned out - after drawing it last night, today I tried to fix what I felt were imperfections and it just looked worse. So, I rolled with it! This probably took me about 2 or 3 hours total (which is blazingly fast by my standards).
And yes, this is really, seriously, ACTUALLY only Sammi's second finished colour drawing! And she turns three years old next month!! The last one was her debut:
(And yeah, technically neither of them are her "real" colours because they're both limited palette things, lol) Still, it could be worse... some of my guys haven't even had ONE finished colour drawing.
