see.. this goes on with a dialogue ive been having with this piece about the concept behind it. There is none--i looove when people get those kind of impressions from my work. I like when people are able to draw their own conclusions and sort out their own feelings about the piece.

i love it a lot g, but i think if you added globs of purple on the right side, maybe added some butterflies hovering over the circles and then threw in some quotes from oprah, this would be even better!

The colors and textures in this piece really stand out. The faded, aged look adds a lot to the feeling, and even if it is art for art's sake, it's great stuff.

why thanks for the kind words. it is art for arts sake, but for me that's what i love-- it's the process.. i love that feeling that happens when whatever it is you are working on springs to life and starts communicating with you.

if you sold prints of your work, i think i would buy them.
your gallery is very inspiring, and this piece is not an exception. i also saw the knights helmet....love the textures, different elements, but i think you could have tried a few positions of the pipe - it seems just sort of stuck on there, maybe you could shift it to the left, a bit off the page - that would add more movement/empty space to the piece. also i feel there is very little continuation from the bottom circle elements and the pipe....

i actually have some prints for sale, tho i will confess it's some older work. Ive been too damn lazy to sit there and wait for those huge .tiff files to upload.

I do have certain elements that seem to creep into my various pieces from time to time. Id like to chalk that up to 'it's my visual style' or something high-falutin' like that, but ultimately it's the graphic designer in me using what works.

Well if it was an idea that was in a lot of people's work, that'd be one thing but seeing as how it's just your idea I don't think you have to defend it or give a reason for it. Mind you, if you want to get pretentious on it I'd say it's merely a useful phrase in the larger scheme of your personal visual language.
