Like Yoda says "Do or Do Not, there is no Try."
Don't worry about messing up on the first 20-50 drawings or so. Just do them for the sake of doing them. You'll find that with straight ink, your mind eventually knows that it can't mess up too much and eventually you just start picking up the right lines that feel comfortable to you. Or at least this worked for me.
I'm also a very big stickler on sketchy lines. I think they're too messy and I can't stand them. However, I've been trying to get over this, because I need to do a lot more sketching and designing before I get into final art.
I'll probably have a good stack of Ballpoint Theater drawings next week with a variety theme.

50? I may need more of this paper stuff then. I've done straight ink before though not as often. I think part of the reason isn't just the ability to change line but I also like the thin lines of a mechanical pencil too. Will have to sit down between digital projects to brainstorm out some ink though. I'd certainly like to be able to go more in the direction of this style. Sometimes it's just that blank page that makes me blank out what to draw.
