that's so beautiful, i always see waterfall pictures look sooooo smooth like this, but i know that's not how it looks in real life cuz other pictures of the same waterfall xD so how do you ppl make it look sooooo smooth??

Awesome...how'd you keep the spray off the lens?

andy, that was the tough one. i sat (guarding a bunch of stranger's stuff while they frolicked in the spray) for about 15 mins wondering if/how the heck i might get something from this spot. finally, having noticed the clouds and water moving away from the diagonal, i decided to try this and, once the frolickers had collected their stuff, i plonked the tripod down and whipped off the lens cap at the last moment. by the end of the exposure, it had accumulated a fair amount of spray but not enough to distort the photo ... in short, i got pretty lucky! thanks!
