"Now all the pride know that, my mother Irina is Vitani's sister...and that means that my grandmother is Zira... everytime I ask to my mother about it, she look at me with very sad expression and just said it would tell me everything one day...I can't keep waiting any longer..."-She looked down and then looked at him again - "Habari...I need to know ...after all she is part of me..."she lowered her eyes feeling a lot of sadness, impotence and frustration.
Habari placed his paw on her to give her comfort as he thought of what to say. "Well...I mean, are you sure you want to know?" he asked, ears flattened in worry. He'd heard the stories many times of Zira, of her bloodthirsty past and bitterness. To him, Malaizi's ancestors didn't matter. His mother had told him, time and time again, it wasn't blood that made the lion or lioness, but the heart, and Malaizi's heart far outshone her grandmother's deeds.
"...If I don't get the answers from my mother and aunt...then I may...go search for the direct source..."- she said very serious and looked into his eyes "yes...I mean the Outlands"
Malaizi was kind and innocent, but maybe too much...that feeling of being good and being always sure everyone has "good" inside their hearts, make her very naive...
"Maybe that's the only way I had to know the truth" -She said - "And even if my heritage is not as good as I thought it was I prefer an ungly truth instead of a beautiful lie..." Now she sounded just stubborn not only determinated.
Habari's frown deepened at her words. He could tell this was important to her, but he couldn't help but worry. What if, in her looking for the truth, she got hurt? The idea made his skin crawl. After thinking for a moment, he turned to look at her. "I still don't think you should go to the Outlands. But, if you do, then I'm coming with you," he said, raising his head a bit in determination. He wasn't the best fighter, but he definitely wasn't going to let her go it alone.
