Description Just finished this, and I'm fairly happy with the results. Done with B, 2B, 5B, tortillon, and blending stumps on bristol paper. Approx. size is 8x10.

OhMyGod! I'm really blown away by this, I find myself drawn to his eyes, they look so intense. You did an incredible job.

Oh, thank you so much for your lovely comment! (and I'm really not that amazing- you should have a look at some of my faves to see what artists I look up to! There are some stunning artists here on dA, really. ) I just get kind of bashful with compliments sometimes, but I am so glad you like it!

As for the maple cane, I'm not sure- I watch the show every now and then, but this was a drawing made for a friend, and I'm not super knowledgeable about it.

I actually got to see some pencil art for House in person one day and I thought it was hilarious. He had white tape on his mouth in an 'x' shape.

lol! I've seen that promo pic for the show, don't think I've ever seen it drawn, though! It's always awesome when you can see art in person, too- a lot of the time, they look so much better than scans do, you know?

As Hugh has been drawn very often aroung here on da, I must say this one is pretty good and exact to Hugh himself, however I'm not very sure about his nose... well, as I draw myslef, I can imagine that the angle of his face must've been quite difficult to capture, so the nose. I mean, not that it is explicitedly WRONG. On the other hand, you got the eyes very good On the whole, I like this. Your style is fairly clear (which is not always the case with artists who work with pencils... )

Thank you very much for the nice comment! And... hmm, I'd have to find the reference I used and check it out, really- it's quite possible you caught something just not "right" with his forehead. I find little things all the time that I wish I'd done differently on pieces, I'm sure this one is no different! lol... do you ever do that, nitpick pieces well after you've thought you were finished with them?

Thanks for taking the time to drop by and comment! I see what you mean- I was working with a very high-contrast printout of the original photo at the time, but yeah- I'd love to sort of re-visit this piece in the future, and really do it justice. It can always be done better, right?

And glad you liked the cloth- I was pretty happy with how that came out, as well!
