Lol i really didn't like my previous picture like wtf was I half asleep?! Composition was so bad and colours were disgusting, lighting was wrong you could barely even see the details of Dante which was what I've been working on 90% of the time I was painting the piece DX
Well hope I improved with this one, also fixed the shading a bit lol. You can see the old one here if you wanna compare... [link]
And no he doesn't smoke anymore [link] I didn't realise it back then.
Please dont discuss how much you hate the new Dante/Dmc. I really get the point but it's not gonna do anything; the game is gonna be released anyway.

I find myself liking the new Dante as well as the old. I personally don't care if it's rebooted. I just care if it's fun, and the demo I played was fun!

Yay! Another sane and logical person C: exactly, people should only worry about gameplay, art, stage design etc not because the characters just LOOK different. So annoying reading all the DMC reboot complaints and whinging on my artworks :/

It's so frustrating to hear people complain, I know... I mean, perhaps the new design wasn't to other people's liking, but we can't do shit about it. Not unless somebody has the ability to quantum leap into the CEO of Capcom's brain and get him to change things again. I had a crack at the demo and I left rather satisfied, ^^

Yup! And the combat controls imo is much better because you can switch weapons during a combo so you can do mix combos with different weapons *__*
The story sounds much deeper, as it reflects reality etc. I can't wait to hear the rest of the story!

As for me, the whole reason why I even played DA is because it looked to me like it used the most symbolism/imagery from the original Divine Comedy, by Dante Aligheri (an epic poem written in the 1300s about Dante's journey through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise (accompanied by Virgil through Hell and Purgatory))

I guess in the same way I'm interested in DMC4 because of all the Christian/Catholic symbols, and how they kind of twisted that to make it more sinister; I love those kinds of things! Even though I am a Christian lol.

You mean the game Dante's Inferno? If so, yes. Its very different in some ways, but DI is basically based off "The Inferno", the first book of the Divine Comedy

I'll admit, I was once a whinning fan that didn't like the new look, but I've come to love it just like I loved the past Dantes. 
With that being said, I really love this. Even if it wasn't Dante I would have loved this anyway. The coloring and shading seems perfect.

i had my own theories on why his hair is black while vergil's is white. judging by the new trailer and the part when Dante is holding a family photo i couldn't help but notice Eva's hair colour is also black, while Sparda's (though distorted) is probably white. Judging by the fact Eva was called a whore by many of the characters, and Dante is hated by them, I think it's supposed to be a twist on the whole Darkness Vs. Light thing. Eva is an angel while Sparda is a demon, Which is more of a reason to think Vergil is going to end up evil and Dante is obviously the good guy. So to conclude, This is still going with the game's theme of "Everything is not what it seems" sorry for the long reply!

Me too! I was hell depressed when it first came out, especially with the TGS 2010 trailer DX but as i kept watching later trailers it kinda grew on me. I absolutely love the vibrant art style as well as the more realistic portrayal of the series
Lol i was expecting more for Vergils new design but im fine with it. I do find it strange how his blazer thing he's wearing has an Asian motif on it, at the bottom left corner o.0
Guess we'll find out when its released XD also cant wait to see the mocap actors!
