Oh no, not Xerneas! Don't worry, I'll take you to a Pokémon Center and take care of you.
I don't mind Fairy-type too much because their strength/weakness are based on mythology. Folklore states that fairies/faeries/fae are tricksters, making even the most formidable foes fall flat on their faces. The reason that Fairy-type is weak to Steel is because fae are hurt severely by cold iron.
What I do mind are the ridiculous Fairy-types that they came up with, like the Swirlix line. Spritzee doesn't bother me too much because the art reminds me of a wisp, but the cotton candy Swirlix looks so dumb. I do have an appreciation for the Flabébé line as they are reminiscent of flower pixies, but I dislike that they retyped so many of the previous Pokémon. I can understand Clefairy and Jigglypuff, but why Pikachu?

Yeah...Not exactly thrilled with that one myself. Still, the design is more respectable than Slurpuff. For whatever reason, I really like the plague doctor mask.
But I would like to know why they decided to retype Mawile to be Steel-Fairy.

Xerneas versus Hydreigon? Niiice. I'd love to see something like, a Sylveon versing/beating/riding a Noivern, sticking to the theme of Fairy and Dragon. That'd be so cool <3

Actually it was quite smart because Dragons were actually game-breaking given that you could get them to a point were it was almost impossible to knock out a dragon type without using another dragon type. Face it, dragons were to op, no matter how awesome dragons in general are (and they are as awesome as the sky is blue during the day) having it so you can break a game by using them is a big no no.

i am not saying that they should have nearly no weaknes ... but fairy as a weaknes? that is far from being logical. watching a Wigglytuff beating up a Haxorus is just ridiculous .. :/

I agree, the typing could have been picked a bit better-given something small and cute normally wouldn't be able to brutally beat something big tough-looking, but it was still a good idea to give dragons another weakness to water down their op-ness.
Not to mention their are some good jokes, like they decided to make fairy type strong against dragons because of Navi.
