I'm not a fan of American chocolate, I find it tastes a bit strange, and there's something about the texture that I don't like.
I do really like Swiss and British chocolate, though.

What you dislike about the texture is probably the wax.
Yes, most of the inexpensive American chocolate are made with copious amounts wax. They don't have to list it in the ingredients, either, because it technically isn't food.

I 'used' to be kind of proud to be American. xD
Now, often times I just see my country get made fun off, and others making silly jokes about it.
And I just sit there like- 'Oh, uh...I'm...I'm French. What, I never said I was American, psh- You heard wrong.'
It's not bad really. I laugh at a lot of the jokes, but some of them can really make me feel as low as our food quality. :U

Its not the country, its the food corporations and bad things in the foods. Like HFCS (High fructose Corn syrup). To change your diet and the ones of people around you, eat and drink organically and locally. You should try it! I'm an American and I eat organic!

I feel so bad for everyone who gets US chocolate only. We get stuff like Lindt, Kinder (which is banned in the US), Milka and Merci at a price of .50-3 euros depending on the size even though we gladly import USA's stuff.
Everyone deserves to taste other people's chocolate, no questions. EVERYONE.

I dunno I don't think all chocolates in america are that bad. It sucks because all of them that are imported or 'fancy' are about 10$ a bar and that's just dumb :I but I really enjoy the chocolates we have here that have fruits or nuts of coconut in them >_>Β
