Another bonus is that at the end, it would cost very little fuel to move ships from the elevator to the Moon, so we could establish mining outposts on Luna. There we would be able to extract the helium-3 that is relatively abundant in lunar soil and begin replacing our current system with nuclear fusion. This would take care of all our energy needs for generations to come.

Very interesting. Sounds like you put function to your works... do you think it is possible to build a space elevator? If it where possible I would say it would have to be built in either Antarctica or if possible to find a suitable location, the northern hemisphere.
