Description
Oil Pastels, on a laminate (cause of death...) sized 40cm x 30cm. Place - mixed memories from Wroclaw.Thanks goes to jugglejoe for creative suggestions. Unfortunatelly improvements are only in limited range. Basic materials doesn't allowed for more. Pity. But now I think I'm kinda glad about the overall look.
Enjoy the final version.
P.S. I'm sorry but this one is no longer an existing traditional piece because of wrinkled surface all over. Very badly

Unfortunately only a memory of this has left...
One of those works you put most of your heart in...
And it's ruined now beacuse of a stupid mistake.
This stupid situation + private problems got me grounded for a pretty long time with no painting.
...I can't pull myself together...

It is very sad, really.
But fortunately, at least you still have a digital copy of your artwork.
The choice of the substrate is very important.
It is better to choose a paper or a cardboard with a bit of tooth to hold the pigments.

great job! I really like the leaves in the foreground and the fall colors. The background might be a touch too blended. and it might need something in the mid ground. But then again, it might be perfect as is. It reminds me of Monet's Rushes at Argenteuil.

Mistakes at basics:
1. Blending in background is an effect of using too many layers of oil pastels without a fixative. So it's blending after touching just anything.
I've already treat it with fixative but it was too late. Fixative at this point over painted with oil pastels is rolling and it's taking off from the ground.
2. And there is another case. Canvas. Or a laminate I've use for this pic.
It's nice for blending but it's not so good with absorbing pigments.
After a while, I will try my best to make some improvements. But I think I need to simply find another base materials for another piece.
