Neat concept. Oh yeah, regarding Girl Power, it's a good thing to show that females are as capable and talented as men. It's also wise to be mindful that one gender isn't better than the other, rather that all are represented equally and respectfully (something a certain "artist" I won't name fails to acknowledge).

To briefly touch on the subject without delving into controversy, it's bad to show men being better than women, but it's not any better the other way around either.
I think the best approach, which I try to follow in my own original stories and characters, is to show that characters of both genders have good qualities and flaws. Show that female characters have outstanding talents and potential, but give them some faults too. Show that the male characters have equal talents and fallibilities as well; you respect all sides and make them relatable for your story.
