Introducing Zabivaka, Russia 2018: World Cup mascot.According to FIFA, there are 3 candidate mascot: Cat, Tiger, and Wolf, who will be voted to become the official mascot of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ .

If I am a kid, the only thing I could think of after seeing those mascots will be "They're so scary..." To be honest, they look awful.

Wowie, he was chosen by a landslide! As the representative of Russia, it was the right choice over the cat and tiger [tiger is too stereo-typically a jungle animal even if they chose Siberian Tiger, and a cat was too generic in this case]
I'll say he looks waaay cooler in your style. And I actually really enjoy the rough sketch, because it gives more energy to the drawing [in this case, Zabivaka], he looks more alive and energized.

Right, I agreed with you. And... I don't think he looks very good. I could give it other times to draw again.
Some people said why there was no bear mascot which could represent Russia better, I'm curious too. But still the wolf isn't too bad, plus its creator is a gorgeous lady!
You should draw or sketch anything roughly and quickly and show us the result. It's like a good warming up before starting to draw something seriously.

I really think that the wolf should be chosen because it seems fitting for Russia. Apart from Russian, there are lots of Turkic languages spoken there, like Bashkir, Chuvash etc and wolves are greatly appreciated in those cultures.
It's a nicely done sketch if I may say so, and he's really looking inspiring and handsome.
