Blue Diamond shook her head, no. No to all of it. Her brows knit together, and she put her face in her hands. “Forgive me, Solaire,” she whispered. “I did not mean to lash out at you. I just… this situation…”
The reopening of wounds long ago ignored, but never fully closed, was more than Hope felt she could bear alone. But placing the burden of her own lack of awareness on her sister was unfair, and she knew it.
Her eyes stayed dry, but it took shocking effort. “I did not ask her,” she admitted, “I could not bear to hear her fate.”
Solaire cursed herself mentally in all languages known to Gems. She'd done one of the worst things she could do - break Hope's heart. She almost ran back to her sister and pulled her into her arms, hugging her tightly to her chest, as strongly as she could without hurting Blue Diamond.
"There's nothing to forgive," she said in a low voice, controlled for Hope's sake. "You're innocent and in pain. But I will find who did this. I'll hunt them down and they'll wish they never existed.”

Pride Month continues with the Diamonds! Though the scene it's based on is in an RP where they're sisters, oops. As much sisters as you can get when you're made of stardust, anyway.

White: Promise
Pink: Jubilee
Blue: Hope
Yellow: Solaire
As far as canon goes, their names are probably just the stones, but we wanted to name them after famous diamonds in those colors. X3

I mostly go with the Pink Diamond = Rose Quartz theory for my writing, but I'm on the fence for canon on both points! Belonging to White Diamond would make place with Pearl's Gem placement and color, but I really enjoy the idea of sister pearls being made for the Diamonds, and Pearl belonging to Rose all along. What about you?

Well, I originally followed the Rose = PD theory but after seeing how big Blue and Yellow are I reconsider it. Now, in my fanon Rose was PD's top general and Pink gave Rose some og her powers that's why Rose has powers other Quartzs don't have. Then something happened to Pink so the other Diamonds appointed Rose as they new leader of the Pink faction and she was called Rose Diamond as an honorific.
As for Pearl, I believe she was called defective do to her oval gem (the other pearls have round gems) but WD keep her because she though her gem shape was an exotic beauty. I got this idea that baroque pearls (not round pearls) are more beautiful or rare if their gems aren't too deformed.

Oooh, I like that! Especially the part about baroque pearls. That's kind of where we went with Jubilee keeping Pearl despite her Gem being ovular.
I usually go with the theory that Jubilee gave some of her power up (possibly to Promise, for the sake of the RP and Promise's refusal to get involved in the war directly) and became as close to a "Rose Quartz" Gem as possible, and assumed the identity accordingly. Gems are stagnant and don't really gain new powers much, so her limits were never stretched--but Steven's half human, and he's slowly growing into the power he would've had if Rose had been Jubilee when she had him. Promise broke her word during the Final Strike against Earth, and that was when Rose really stopped being Jubilee. Before that, she'd hoped Promise would come around and join her side.
Everything we do with the Diamonds is very sad, though, I can't wait to clean it up into fic form!

Well, glad we had similar thoughts about Baroque Pearls.
That's an interesting theory. I really would like to see how the Diamonds interact with each other. And yes, anything to do with the Diamonds us bound to be sad.
Say, what's your opinion on corrupted Gems? I think they become corrupted by succumbing to despair though Lapis' back story in Same Old World made me think that there might be some outside influence if only because all the Homeworld gems suddenky abandoned the planet and there was a flash of light at tge end. My theory isctgat Steven uses hus mind powers to enter the monsters' minds and talks their rwal selves out of their despair.
