I like the texture, colors and lighting. Perhaps a bit more fog would give it scale and depth?

I was just learning the program when I did that and know what you mean. I go back and look at the OLD things and actually giggle at myself.
Guess we all have to learn by our errors.
The formulas? Oh gosh I couldn't even tell you at this point.

I don't know why, it makes me think of the old PC game "Lemmings" - this kind of strategy game where many many little creatures all alike were just moving a scene like this and you had to assign roles to some of them so that most of them would go to an exit way somewhere in the scene.

You'd probably love it. The version I played was an old program for MS-DOS (before Windows). But there are more up to date versions, like a 3D one. But I don't know how it is, though.
