Minotaur's song

"Hi, I am the Minotaur.

People say that minotaurs are mythical beings, but that's just an inefficient excuse to pretend that I don't exist. Meanwhile, I walk nearby, accomplishing my duty.

I live in this dark and creepy Labyrinth, but I don't know it. Like all other people here, I'm a captive. I'm also lost and don't know the way out, and even if i knew, what whould I do outside? I live in this realm for so long, and would never get used again to the sunlight, fresh air and the crowded frenzy.

The place I live is somewhere among these endless corridors and their dead ends. I never dare to go too far, because I'm affraid loosing the way back.

This used to be a temple, but now it's nothing more than ruins that slightly resembles the amazing building I once thought I've built.

Sometimes an erratic wanderer crosses my path. I eat them all, more for precaution than for being savage, because they would do the same to me. That's the Law of the Labyrinth.

Ironically they're so called my "victims", but in fact they scare me. I oftenly hear their screams of despair and agony echoing on the slimy corridor walls and fading into the darkness, and I can't sleep.

Into the Labyrinth's deep you never know if it's day or night, and time is meaningless. Then, sometimes I get this old theorbo and play melody fragments of old songs that I can't remember the lyrics anymore. So, I mumble some dissonant moos here and there, till I completely miss the score and start over with another song mimic.

'Singing chases away the blues' ...bullshit... this only feeds and increases my solitude.

Thank God, because loneliness is my only guide and trustworthy partner, in this endless journey to nowhere. "
