Description For her birthday ,on 16th of Sun's Dawn, she's received her new pet (birds are her favourite animals). 

The magpie is considered one of most  intelligent birds: they're able to mimic others birds' sounds and even talk ,they're fond of shiny objects and they can recognize themselves in a mirror. In some culture they're associated to superstitions.

 I always  research a little before I draw a picture.

I think Ekate has such a beautiful face! I love that pose and the detail on the armour I know some people might think this is a little dark, but I love adding shadows to pictures too! I love how dramatic light sources look against it! It also brings out the red in her eyes and the Daedric bow. 


I think if you added a tiny sparkle to the bracelet it would jump out a little more.


 There's a warmth in the shadows that make it feel like a peaceful Autumn evening - I also think that warmth carries over into her expression so great job! I know how hard those backgrounds are.... we just gotta keep trying Haekate hahah! Can't wait to see what  you make next!

Thanks,I'm glad you think so, now that I correct the little problem with her chin is really better. It's really my weakness,I love adding shadows and point of intense light,they made the figure more tridimensional and the skin of dark elves is a  perfect surface for yellow and orange lights in my opinion and their big bright red eyes are adorable ,plus I love elves in general so I'm always happy to draw one,they're such a beautiful race. 

I think that about the bracelet too, now that I look better I'll certainly add some lights there.

The Rift gives me this sensation and I wanted to translate it  here with its colours and the orange leaves. Thanks for the motivation,I think we get along well about backgrounds.   Thank you ,probably another Mercer and Ekate' s picture because they're funny and Mercer face is my favourite to do for unknown reasons (probably for his expressiveness).

I love magpies, and this one looks brilliant, its feathers are so glossy and the colours are really accurate. Does it have a name?

Thank you! I used some photos as reference about colours and structure because I've never drawn one and seen one so close.

No it doesn't have a name yet,I want to name it but for now I have no ideas, so everyone is free to make suggestions.

A perfect match!, I like her expression towards the Magpie or is it towards what's in it's beak , I love the outfit and colour of them leafs!

Thanks!  Probably it's towards both the bird and the little bracelet : she always wanted a little bird as pet but domesticated ones are difficult to find,someone's been gentle enought to see it and steal it for her. 

It's the first time I try to do a tree with some effort so I'm glad you like the leaves,even if I could improve a lot more now that I understood how tree should be drawn.

Thanks!  No,I'm really stressed by these backgrounds. But when you hate something you can choose: don't do it or do it so many times that eventually you'll improve,I've chosen the latter as the stubborn person I am.

Very pretty! It would have helped to use fewer dark colors in your background though. Your character kind of blends in.

Thanks you very much!  It's my fault, I love using shadows too much and I hate backgrounds too much (accordingly I force myself to do them so in a future maybe I'll improve)  but thanks for the gently advice,I keep it at mind.

I hate doing birds,their body is terrible,sometimes they came out like potatoes! Thanks for pointing that out I've noticed only now that her chin is not right(too much playing with shadows and colours,damn).

Pictures,a lot of pictures:you study them,you watch the bird in different positions and then pray  Lady Luck.At least this is my method with birds.
