Some of you probably remember this guy from a deviation I posted last year (almost a year ago omg it feels like just now), and as you can see... his design has barely changed at all. I actually haven't even decided what the rest of his body looks like lol what.
This one was first going to be something completely else; it had lines and flat colors and blue shading. Then things happened and I suddenly wanted it to be lineless so I began tweaking it here and there to the point where the shading colors had turned around 180 degrees and there was no return... so this is what it turned out to be. There are still a few things I'd like to change, but I've been drawing too much stuff today so skdkfjghdf.
Anyways, hope you guys like, although it's just another random bust with flaws here and there.
As always, art and character is mine, and title has nothing more to do with this than having B2ST's Freeze playing in the backround as I was trying to come up with a title.
(I have also noticed that when I look at my gallery on other monitors, most of my drawings are super duper dark or very contrasted... so I apologize if this is the same kind of dark and over contrasted and you can't see much and skjdhdgj sobs)
This character also still needs a name... OTL OTL

You killed me again.
The lighting and shading affects look so realistic. I love the flowy, intricately painted fur. If you really look closely at the picture you can appreciate all of the small details added into the picture, for example, the teeth and the scars. I love the folds inside of the ear, and also the clear flex of the muscles in the face.
Another great aspect about this piece is the mood lighting & color. The dog's expression is hard to describe, but I know exactly the feeling. His lips are curled in a macabre grin, almost as if he is crazed. The green, glowing eyes give it more of a hollow and unfocused look.
Lastly, the background is simple, yet defining. It really brings out the feeling of the whole piece. It portrays a thin light shining through a dark area, with small dust particles surrounding the canine's profile. It makes my stomach flip!
This is honestly one of the most moving pictures I've seen so far! Well done!

And also, I was happy to read the part about his expression; this character is the only one of mine that is sort of a bit deranged, so hearing that the expression brings it out just makes me feel accomplished.
