Woman on a morning stroll. Her costume is not historically accurate at all, obviously. Just playing around at some kind of pseudo-Asian clothing. Also, I wanted this drawing to have a weird compressed or flattened look. I think it does, for the most part.Playing around with some Photoshop features on this one. This is the first time I tried using the pattern overlay (on her dress), and um, I don't think I'll be using it much after this. It isn't very fun at all. The only reason I stuck with it this time is because it does make the cloth look nice and flat. But considering I don't usually want flat looking dresses, in the future I'll stick to my old way of doing it.
Anyway, the usual. Drawn from sketch to finish on Photoshop. No references. Took about 7 hours. I may eventually make a print out of this, but I'd have to clean up the fullres version first. It's kinda messy.

I like the flattened look, makes it appear more traditionally-asiany-old painting sort of style.

I like how you have the boarder only going vertically on the picture. It doesn't take away from the beauty of the actual picture.
The picture looks both flat (background wise) and 3-D (woman/foreground wise) at the same time. That's cool

Really nice pic, the pattern overlay is very subtle but i think it works quite well giving the cloth some great texture.

...so i got off myy lazy ass and took a bit to peek thru my devpile lol..
having fun with the woodblock print feel the background has, think it lost a bit of its dimension where the pattern of the dress started really showing and the green gradation started to kick in though.. the bottom half just feels a bit unfinished to me in comparison to the top half...
top half is like sex though :3

Very simple coloring - it works very well with the background. Perhaps darkening the dress further (the lower torso, not the shoulders) would enhance the contrast and add more "oomph"

beauitful! So smooth! No the dress isn't historically accurate, but the dress is so beautiful! One thing that sort of catches my eye in a bit of a negative way is the collar. It seems much too deep and modern compared to how historical the rest looks.
