Well, here's the real thing too. My mum's Christmas present. Yep, it looks quite different to the actual design I had, but it shows that even if I don't follow it, it's better than attacking the canvas with paint and paintbrushes before I have any idea what I want to do
In my defence, there were 3 stages - the general shapes and colours, the gradients and neatening the edges and finally doing the splatters on top. Once I finished Stage 2, I realised I quite liked it how it is and got worried splatters might make it worse.
My mum agreed and she said she prefers this to the design anyway
