Know No Fear was good. I'll give you that. But the smurfs ain't worth any respect, what with their lack of anything more than the generic Astartes everything.

You are welcome. And that is the whole point with them, someone has to be a role model, they are too many, Ultramar is too big and Guilliman established such an administration even if they would want to be non generic due to the size of their chapter they can't, that is why their successor chapters are non generic, for example Mortifactors. Someone simply had to be generic and there by a chance of randomness maybe it is the Ultramarines.

I beg to differ. This is the 41st Millennium. Role models no longer exist, because every time someone tries to be one, he gets shot by the Commissar, eaten by Tyranids, raped and tortured by Dark Eldar, witnesses his homeworld corrupted by Chaos, witnesses his homeworld exterminatus'd by the Inquisition for said corruption or something just as bad, if not worse. The Heresy is ample proof of this. Horus would've been the role model for the primarchs, considering what are nice guy he was to his brothers, but then, because of the Ruinous Powers and Lorgar, turned around and screwed them all. As for generic, it wouldn't be a problem, if generic wasn't so... boring. Honestly, I've seen generic in many other universes, none has been worse than the Ultras on a good day. Not just that, but the Space Wolves and crusader chapters, especially those that don't adhere to the Codex Astartes, are generally larger than the Ultramarines at least half the time. And of course, everyone's greatest problem, plot armour so thick only the Battle for Maccrage managed to pierce it, but who really cares for the Spiritual Liege.

Yeah, I have a long period of art block, besides Warhammer40k takes lots of time, I've painted my whole Dark Angels army, my brother's Necrons and now we bought orks too so I am painting them, and there are more WH40K stuff coming that will need to be painted too, not to mention the playing, it takes time.

I always liked the Dark Angels, they are really cool, I always thought they are one of the best made Chapter/ slash Legions of 40k.

To be honest the first chapter I ever cam in contact with, if I can say it that way, were the Black Templars, and that is why I like Imperial Fists, but as soon as I found out about the Dark Angels, their story and all that I was converted instantly. Recently I have heard Unremembered Empire the audio book and you can imagine how excited I was about it since Lion is in it.

I was brought into it thanks to the Soul Drinkers which lead me to their father chapter the Imperial Fists. So I have a very special place for the Imperial Fists and all other chapters.
