hey guise! Juuust thought I should post something to show that I am back from the U.K. It was awesome! I'll have to edit the photos I took to post, but they'll probably come eventually. hah. so about this picture:
I actually wrote it in my fic, so it's legit. of course, there wasn't all dialogue, this was more of a quick piece to get my thoughts out because I do that a lot, and I often just write on the paper itself. I have terrible handwriting, so I will congratulate you if you can read it! haha. I really want to post my fic but I've been really lazy on actually typing it up. It takes so loooooong. ugh. I need a kick in the butt from MOTIVATION.

What giant scandal? the government shut-down thing minnesota? well for that, it happened right in the middle of my trip, so when I came back, it was hard to notice anything changed. haha. but that's the only 'scandal' I know of, lolll. what you probably mean is really obvious but I'm kinda dim sometimes. herpherp.
But I really did enjoy the U.K! It's so much different over there than it is here. I don't know what it is, exactly, but it's just a lot more easygoing and clean . like you can tell the air is just different over there. it's aweeesome.

Lol I'm talking about the big scandal that's going on in the UK, because that's where I'm from! Did I make it sound like I was talking to you from the US? I must be terrible at phrasing things. Glad to hear you like our country though....
I meant the whole News International thing that's consuming the print media and the high echelons of government in the UK at the moment. It's still rumbling on, having started nearly two weeks ago now, and people are starting to call it Britain's Watergate.

oh shiiiet. I didn't hear ANYTHING like that when I was there. but then again, I was an obnoxious tourist, soooo. haha. damn. I only really know about the government shut down in my state, and I don't even know much about that. I don't like politics at all, but I should at least get on knowing what's going on... oh dear.

This is more the media, really.... what's been going on is that the News of the World, which was until last sunday a major newspaper (it's now closed because of this scandal), was hacking into the mobile phones of the families of British soldiers killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan, teenage murder victims, families of the victims of the July 7 2005 terrorist attacks in London... put simply, some of the most despicable journalism, if you can call it that, that can be imagined. Surrounding that are all sorts of questions around the original police investigation, corruption in certain parts of the police, and the problems in balancing the requirement for a free and unrestricted press and protecting the rights of the individual - and that's where the politics comes in, because at present there is a major impetus to introduce new legislation to try to fix this. I have to say in this case, our politicians have actually acted fairly, sensibly, and decisively, but there are also problems with how close politics in general became with the media because of trying to win elections, and the influence the media has. To their credit, politicians of all parties have recognised that this has been a major and ongoing problem and there is talk of fixing this as well.
That's my really-quick summary of what's been going on. It's been rumbling on for two weeks now, this thing, and there's so many issues and problems surrounding it. Hard to keep track sometimes! XD

It's spreading to the US at the moment because News International also owns several US publications including the Wall Street Journal... it could well turn out that this sort of thing was endemic...

Because he had a giant growth spurt! (In the span of 2 years). I didn't do it just for my own fun, but if you look in the movie towards the end, without his vest on, Hiccup has wide shoulders. He definitely has potential in the movie to fill out, so I kinda did that here without his shirt on
