Description Name: Deimos (Deimos Grey)
Age: 30
Birthday: Dec 31st
Height: 5' 11”
Gender: Male [He/Him]
Affiliation: Neutral
Sexuality: Pansexual

Personality:

Intelligent, quick-witted, crafty, Deimos is able to think on his feet and problem solve or improvise. A fast learner, he can pick up on things and adapt to them quickly. Skills that are essential for his line of work. He has a deep love for history and literature and a deep thirst to learn new topics that interest him. When something catches his interest, he will dive head first with eager enthusiasm. Unfortunately, this enthusiasm only includes topics he has an interest in. When it's something he has little to no interest in, he becomes pretty apathetic and bored. A bored Deimos is a no go and will not waste his time on things he doesn't care about.

Playful by nature, Deimos does not do well with boredom. He craves stimulation, seeking any form of entertainment, even at the expense of others. In fact, this is his favorite form of entertainment. Joking, flirting, teasing, making up games, being annoying, he will try to find any means to make a situation fun and engaging for himself. Emphasis on, himself.

Deimos can be pretty selfish and self centered. And why shouldn't he? For so long he wasn't able to have anything just for himself. He had to share all the damn time. Nothing was ever his own! Even living on the streets he never had things that were just his. So now Deimos fully indulges in being selfish and doesn't care what anyone says. That book? Mine. Those shoes? Mine. That last piece of cake in the fridge with a name clearly labeled belonging to someone else? Clearly, mine now. His pokemon and his fellow lucky cats are an exception, his will playfully give his friends a hard time about it.

Charismatic, a smooth talker, Deimos knows how to turn on the charm and draw you in. A skill that is beneficial when gathering intel for his team. His characteristic tendencies isn't always for malicious purposes. Sometimes he just really wants to flirt with someone who caught his eye.

Deimos oozes confidence and struts it like a badge of honor. Why the hell wouldn't he be confident? He's got looks, he's got style, he's got charisma, he's got brains, and has some amazing life skills. Obviously he's amazing and will strut it proudly. Is that conceited? That sounds something a jealous person would say. In his line of work, you need confidence and he has plenty to share.

Living the life he had, Deimos learned to be intuitive to people and his surroundings and will constantly observe and analyze them. Any moment things can go from good to bad in a blink of an eye, and wants to try and be prepared for it and his team. Better to be prepared and ready to take things head on, than unprepared and at a disadvantage.

Deimos had always been independent, relying on his own strengths to achieve his goals. Never really wanting to rely on others or feeling comfortable about letting people do things for him. If he is independent, he's in control of his actions and choices, even if they don't work out. He makes an exception with his team, and his pokemon, but will be reluctant to rely those he doesn't fully trust.

Deimos can be pretty indifferent to those he isn't close to. Why should he be concerned with the problems of someone he's not involved with when he already has his own going on. It isn't that he is heartless, it's just, what do you expect him to do about it? He can't magic your problems away or give empty words of encouragement. But when it is people he cares about, he will care about their problems. He's not good at comforting others, especially if they're being overly emotional, but he'll try his best and be a shoulder to cry on and wait for you to calm down before talking about it.

Getting mad is something very foreign to Deimos. Sure he can get annoyed, but getting mad is just kind of stupid to him and is seen as a waste of time. Why waste your energy on anger when you can just talk things out rationally. He'll typically either engage the person trying to irritate him for his own amusement, because why you trying so hard? Or just outright ignore their very existence and act like you're not even there.

Having lived the life he has, Deimos is rather jaded to the world and sees the more negative side of things. He will not believe anything at face value or told to him. Preferring to observe and make his own opinions. As negative as he is, Deimos does genuinely believe there is some good in the world, but it is extremely rare and often overshadowed and forgotten. As such, it is extremely difficult for him to trust others.

If by some miracle you gain his trust, Deimos will move heaven and earth to protect you. Trust is something deeply special to Deimos and treasures those he trusts, as it means he can let his constant vigilance down and be himself. Be warned. This trust is extremely fragile, and the moment this trust is broken, never expect to get it back. You can try to mend things as much as you want, but Deimos will never put his trust in you again.

History:

[Warning for mentions of neglect and attempted kidnapping]

As far back as Deimos could remember, his earliest memories were of, 'The Home'. Abandoned as an infant, Deimos was raised by the many caretakers of the facility; an old establishment that offered care for orphans of all ages.

Deimos held no fond memories of The Home. An old building that was underfunded and overcrowded. He was never mistreated in any way, but it was stifling and lonely. The caretakers were professional, but distant, never showing any real affection; and with so many children to look after, he never really had anyone to be attached to. He was just one of the many countless children there.

Not that he really minded. At an early age, he was extremely independent.

Deimos felt disconnected from those around him and never felt he could rely on anyone on a emotional level. He was fed, he was clothed, he had a bed to sleep in, but that was it. Anything deeper was already stretched thin, among the other children who needed constant care.

It was difficult for him to get along with others. Regularly he would misbehave, get into scuffles with the other children, run off every chance he could, or outright butt heads with the caretakers. He didn't like having to share everything with everyone. Nothing was ever his, and if he wanted something, it had to be something everyone could enjoy. And as a child himself, Deimos had no say in anything.

It didn't help that he found other kids annoying to be around. They were whiny and needy, and constantly around him, giving him little to no privacy. This led him to search out little hideaways, away from the other kids and watchful eyes of the caretakers, where he could just be alone to be himself.

The only true companionship Deimos ever had were befriending a small litwick and dreepy, he had met during one of his many explorations for hideaways. It was against the rules for the children to own a pokemon at The Home, but thanks to his many little hideaways he had come across, they were never caught.

Deimos school years were hell for him. Another place full of annoying kids and authoritative adults telling him what to do and how to act.

His school years were also around this time Deimos began to explore his preferences in dressing in feminine clothing. He'd always found enjoyment dressing up and using make up, caring little about his gender. He wanted to look pretty and dressed the way he wanted, regardless of what anyone thought. Besides, he looked gorgeous in heels.

As one could imagine, Deimos ran across some who did not think it was appropriate to dress this way. Too bad for them, Deimos showed anyone who tried anything, he wasn't about to back down, and got into frequent fights. He became a frequent visitor to the principal's office.

Deimos was on pretty bad terms with most of his teachers. Skipping lessons, never turning in assignments, never paying attention during class, being disrespectful, the list went on. It wasn't that Deimos didn't understand the subjects. It was just boring and uninteresting. Being forced to memorize a subject just to pass a grade instead of understanding the material, felt pointless to Deimos. Instead, he spent most of his time reading subjects that he found interesting and not what his teachers required. How he loved immersing himself in books. Wandering through pages to another world, far from the present one he was in. Longing for the pages to turn into wings so he could fly to some far off land.

Life went on, and so did his unhappiness with it. School was still hell for him; unable to find anything engaging or stimulating to keep his attention. His living situation still sucked; with caretakers only acknowledged his existence as an obligation to their job while being surrounded by children of various ages, who, like him, had nothing to call their own.

It was suffocating. He just wanted to escape everything. Leave everything behind.

He never did grow those wings he used to dream of as a kid. He wouldn't need them.

At the young age of 15, Deimos abandoned his old life and ran away from The Home.

Living as a runaway was a harsh reality.

It never dawned on him how fortunate he was to at least had lived in an orphanage. Food, clothes, shelter; Deimos was lucky to receive even one of those luxuries.

Living on the streets was one of the worst experiences in the beginning. It really showed how little the world cared about him. For every kind person who offered help, there were indifferent and downright cruel people to overshadow them. Feigning kindness to lure him in and take advantage of a young run away. It didn't help the authorities were also on the look out for him, after The Home contacted them about him running away, so it only made it harder for him to learn to survive.

Deimos learned many hard lessons that led to some dangerous situations.

One particularly incident, taught him a lesson that nearly cost him. A kind looking man approached him, offering him money to buy himself something to eat. Having eaten very little in the past couple days, hunger lowered his guard. Upon reaching for the money, the man grabbed him and dragged him down an alleyway, keeping a hand over his mouth to cover his screams. Deimos thrashed and fought against the man's hold, but the man was larger and stronger, compared to his small, teenage frame, and continued to drag him further into the alley.

Scared out of his mind, Deimos fought viciously; biting and clawing. In retaliation, the man struck him, but it was enough to break free. His pokemon, alerted to his peril, came rushing to his aid, launching themselves at the attacker and chasing him away. Deimos was safe, but deeply scarred.

It drove home how vulnerable he was. It reminded him that he was just a kid. If he had been any younger. Smaller. If his pokemon hadn't of been there...

It nearly made him want to go back.

Nearly.

Because he was free.

Despite what happened. Despite all the hardships he's facing and will face in the future, despite the authorities searching for him, the freedom he felt outweighed any uncertainty. He was free. And no one would ever take that away from him.

Still, Deimos never wanted to feel that type of helplessness ever again.

He drove himself to learn and adapt to his new life. Discovering ways to survive on the streets. Much like he did as a child, Deimos found hideaways to sleep; never staying in the same place too long, and constantly being on the move to avoid detection in case the law, or someone with ill intent, tried to follow him.

He found solace in local libraries around the city, spending hours reading to his heart's content, and expanding his knowledge to further assist him.

He learned to change his appearance to elude the authorities from recognizing him.

To feed themselves, he and his pokemon would shoplift before learning to pickpocket. It wasn't easy at first, with plenty of close calls, but over time they found a proper system that worked well with lower risk.

It wasn't an easy life, but Deimos couldn't say he regretted his choices.

Around the age of 16, Deimos came across a small advertisement for a small traveling circus troupe. He wasn't very interested in the circus itself, but there was an opportunity to relieve quite a few people of their wallets.

Paying for a ticket, Deimos patiently waited for the show to begin, making note of a few easy marks. When the lights dimmed, and all eyes were focused on the performance, Deimos deftly reached for the wallet peeking out of the man's jacket, before another hand suddenly rested on his own. Deimos recoiled, but the hand latched onto his and wouldn't let go.

It was a teen who looked only a few years older than him. Deimos was immediately on edge and tried to back away, but the older teen smiled and winked. Finally he relinquished his hold on Deimos, giving a silent nod of his head for them to follow.

Normally Deimos would have just ran off, but there were too many eyes if this person decided to draw attention to them.

This was the unusual meeting with Cain.

Cain, turns out, worked as a magician at circus troupe. Initially Deimos expected to be lectured or threatened for using the show to pickpocket, but instead Cain was praising him for his skill. Which really bewildered Deimos. Cain enthusiastically begged him to joining forces, which, of course, really put the other off. What was this manic kid talking about? Deimos was getting weirded out, and wanted to just leave. Cain, on the other hand, actually dropped to the ground, grabbing Deimos' leg and pleading for him to stay and hear him out.

Deimos would have kicked them if his leg wasn't being held hostage.

Again, he relented. Not wanting to draw attention to them.

Cain explained that, while he did work in the circus, the pay was pretty terrible. As such, he would go into the town the circus stopped in, and nicked a few wallets himself. After watching Deimos blend in so well to pickpocket, he thought to ask if he would like to team up and split the spoils evenly.

Their offer was tempting. Not only would he be able to have a job, he'd have a place to eat and sleep. Under normal circumstances, Deimos would have just declined, but Cain was just so damn likable. Maybe it was because he was lonely for companionship, or maybe the thought of not having to sleep in the streets for a while was just so appealing, Deimos hesitantly agreed to the deal. Besides, he could just run away if things turned sour.

Corroborating a story that Deimos had been homeless his entire life, and was looking for work, Cain vouching for him, the troupe hired him on.

Deimos found great enjoyment during his years training in the traveling circus. Learning aerial silk gave him a challenge he never knew he longed for and trained diligently until he could finally perform. And upon turning the legal age of 18, began to train in fire dancing. This took quite a bit of time for him to safely master before being permitted to perform.

During all this, Deimos and Cain made an amazing team and quickly became friends. They refined their skills, pulling off better heists with better pay out. All under the nose of the law and their fellow circus performers.

Then came Nyx. A fellow run away who left a bad home life. A fiery girl with a quick wit and talent for manipulating situations into her favor. She was brilliant and amazingly skilled in technology. She and Deimos immediately clicked and became fast friends. She needed little coaxing agreeing to join the circus troupe to work with Cain and Deimos.

Cain was ambitious and saw a profitable future with their combined skills. Cain expressed his idea for them to become professional thieves. They made a fantastic team and were already doing well with their pick-pocketing. All three contributed their skills while making up for the flaws in each other. Thinking deeply, each exchanged smiles.

Let's be real. Making an honest living would have been unfulfilling, and boring. It wasn't like they were good people anyway.

They left the circus troupe shortly.

Deimos never had any actual companionship aside from his pokemon. He'd always thought he never needed anyone and was fine on his own. But meeting Cain and Nyx, showed him just how starved he was for someone to care about him. Truly and deeply care about him, and for him to care about them just as deeply. Something nearly every child back at the Home longed for. A family. And he would do anything for them, knowing they would do the same for him.

It would take them years to fully establish their goals. Training, learning self defense, trial and error, forming connections, fighting competitors, eluding law enforcement, and building their reputation as thieves for hire. But through it all, and Cain's brilliant leadership, they became the Lucky Cats.

During the night of the meteor shower, the crew thought little of the meaning behind it and chalked it up to one of those rare natural wonders. The coming calamities, however, were pretty hard to ignore.

Kind of hard to work as thieves for hire when the world was ending.

Despite the devastation, Cain saw this as an opportunity for the team to leave Galar and start anew, which the others agreed with. Obtaining new fake passports, they departed for Unova.

News about Masks and Mask users both intriguing, and worrying.  Sure, getting powers from Masks was cool, but the only real concern they had were Mask users hindering their business. Which some did, but never anything they couldn't handle. But it did make them far more cautious.

Time went on, the crew reestablished their reputation, and they continued to work as thieves for hire. They even acquired a new addition to the team, Vinny. It took a while for Deimos to warm up to the new addition, but he trusted his team and eventually accepted them as a fellow cat.

During one mission, Nyx and Deimos had just broken into a safe to obtain some documents for a client and stage it like a random break in. Among the contents of the safe was a locked case, which they took with them along with a few other valuables.

After the mission, Deimos cracked the lock on the case and was presented with a Mask that resembled his dragapult. The crew instantly knew what it was. Deimos knew what it was, and instantly slipped the Mask on. Looks like the Lucky Cats obtained a new member to the crew.

Fears:
Losing his family (Cain, Nyx, his pokemon): The loneliness and inability to connect to anyone he experienced as a child deeply haunts Deimos, and would rather die than ever lose the only family he has ever known.

Business/Operations:
Deimos and his team operate as thieves for hire and will steal for their clients. These can range between objects to information. They will not take jobs that involve narcotics, stealing pokemon, assault, or kidnapping. They must gather information regarding any job, and if deemed too risky, or dangerous retaliation, they will not accept the job. All jobs require extensive planning and research. Even with the best planning, not all jobs are successful and come with a great amount of risk depending on the target.

Their base of operations is concealed under a burlesque club run by Cain, the Golden Meowth. Meetings are set up using codes through drink orders.

Other:
Deimos was not his original name. He rejected his legal name as a child and refused to respond to anything else. He has long forgotten what his name originally was. Only has a last name for legalities.

Works as a burlesque dancer at the club. Stage name, Flicker.

Has years of aerial silk and pyro performance training from working at the circus. Practices regularly to avoid getting rusty. He often utilizes these with his burlesque performances.

Deimos finds fire beautiful and can't help watching the flames dance. He understands the risks and dangers using fire for his pyro performances, and always takes precautions. He uses the fire from his Chandelure during performances.

Dislike of children and teenagers stems from how vulnerable and dependent they are to survive. Needing to rely on those around them just to live and how fragile they are. They are a deep reminder how vulnerable he once was. He is especially uncomfortable around infants and toddlers.

An avid reader with an ever expanding library that pretty much takes up all of the space in his home.

Fully identifies as a male, but does not care about gender presentation. He will wear what he wants and act how he wants. Openly cross dresses and has extensive knowledge of fashion and make up.

Due to their occupation, Deimos and his team regularly trained in martial arts as a means of defending themselves or hindering their enemies to allow them to escape. Deimos is more fond of taekwondo, but only uses it in cases of self defense.

Has standard hacking skills and learning to become better at it to assist the team. He is not an expert.

Deimos' is biologically from Kanto, but grew up in Galar.

Has no interests in joining a Mask faction. He's got his own agenda to worry about.

Vinny belongs to Qnerdi

Mask I
Absinthe

Alias: Absinthe
Species: Dragapult
Ability: Infiltrator
[Passes through the opposing Pokémon’s barrier, substitute, and the like and strikes.]
Nature: Bold [+ Defense/- Attack]
Summary characteristic: Alert to sounds
Accessory: Belly Ring

Move set:
Dragon Darts
Agility
Dragon Dance
Sucker Punch

Resistant:
Fire [½x], Water [½x], Electric [½x], Grass [½x], Poison [½x], Bug [½x]

Weak:
Ice [2x], Ghost [2x], Dragon [2x], Dark [2x], Fairy [2x]

Immune:
Normal, [0x] Fighting [0x]

Personality:

The core of this mask amps up Deimos' playful and mischievous side. Everything is a game. Everyone is here to entertain him, whether they're willing or not. He cannot stand being bored and idle and needs to have something or someone occupy his attention. This can cause him to become more reckless, especially when he's having fun. What's a bit of risk when he's having the time of his life. He is aware that what he's doing can have consequences, and would never fully put him or his team in danger if the risk was too high, but that doesn't mean he can't have a little fun as well.

Other:
Can fly about, propelling himself through the air.

Is built for speed, however, due to this speed it makes quick turns difficult. The faster he goes, the less control he has with the risk of crashing.

The tip of his tail is transparent. Will feel soft and pliable if touched. His tail also holds quite a bit of strength and can hold up an average size person.

Can phase through thin walls, no more than 2-3 feet in thickness. He cannot phase through walls with items that are not a part of his body. Example, if he picks up a book, he cannot take the book with him.

His attack, Dragon Darts, does not use actual Dreepy, but the bolts of energy, when launched, will resemble Dreepy. This move can only be used with his hat which contain the barrels to fire. If he does not have his hat, will not be able to use this move.

Mask II
Dionysus

Alias: Dionysus
Species: Houndstone
Ability: Sand Rush
[Boosts the Pokémon's Speed stat in a sandstorm.]
Nature: Jolly [+ Speed/- Sp. Attack]
Summary characteristic: Often lost in thought
Accessory: Nipple piercing

Move set:
Last Respects
Dig
Roar
Charm

Resistant:
Poison [½x], Bug [½x]

Weak:
Ghost [2x], Dark [2x]

Immune:
Normal, [0x] Fighting [0x]

Personality:

Dionysus enhances Deimos' charismatic traits. Suave, approachable, a sweet talker who just wants to indulge in the pleasures life has to offer and maybe flirt with a few thousand people along the way. Far more relaxed, Dionysus encourages others to enjoy their existence rather than waste away at the monotonous of the mundane. No need to be so serious. Why not come over to chat, have a drink or three and have some fun. You only live once, so enjoy it.

Another trait influenced by his Mask is Deimos' loyalty. It is exceedingly difficult for him to trust others, but when he does, he would risk anything and everything for them. Something very similar to a Houndstone's deep loyalty. As such, Dionysus is pretty aloof to those he does not trust, but is fiercely protective of the ones he does. The moment he senses any threat to the people he cares about, his calm relaxed demeanor will instantly vanish, replaced with vicious guard dog.

Other:
- Has bone-like clawed hands and feet and a tail. Constantly fights to keep his tail from wagging.

- Has dog-like traits and is capable of growling, howling and barking. If someone throws something, it takes everything in him not to immediately chase after it.

- Likes to pick up random things he finds and gives them to people he cares about. Don't ask if it's stolen, because 90% of the time it is.

- Likes to dig and will have the urge to dig anything that has dirt. Potted plants, gardens, etc. The dirt never seems to ruin his clothing.

- Heightened sense of smell and hearing, but is susceptible to overpowering odors and his pitched sounds such as a dog whistle.

- Has very high protective instincts to those he cares about and will display guarding behavior if he feels there is a threat.

- Likes head pats and scratches, but is too prideful to admit it or ask for them openly.

- Has the deadly skill of puppy dog eyes.
