Now you see, several people have suggested that I undertake the 365 Challenge recently completed by the love of my short and irritatingly hetrosexual life, *eckyducky . These people forget that I have absolutely no time or energy to devote to such a commitment. To prove this, I have decided to embark upon the much less impressive '7 Day' Challenge, which I invented for those for whom time management is a means of survival.

I am going to take a self portrait every day for an epic Seven Days (!!! impressive, non?!) but, to show you all why I can't make a habit of this, I will post with each photo the story of what I did that day. Hopefully this will give you a glimpse into the strange and varied life that I lead.

Here goes. Wish me luck on this journey of a life time!

Day 1: The Band Room

Today was a photo shoot day. I am at the end of my holidays and, knowing that I will not have a single day off until mid-March, I decided to bully my friend, *Shoot-At-Everyone into shooting with me. My persuasive argument was as follows: This is silly, you being a photographer and me being a model and you being one of my boyfriend's best friend and me being his girlfriend and yet this relationship has only brought us together for one shoot! Which was awesome, by the way! ([link] ) Following me? Well I'm not. Let's shoot before I go back to school on Monday. The amazing Kat [link] styled for us and with the boyfriend and another RMIT photographer, Eliza, as assistants, we headed off to shoot.

Now *Shoot-At-Everyone is an incredible photographer (I'm disgusted that more of you aren't watching her) but it was very hard work. We were all stressed because we had an extremely strict time limit to our shoot and an hour into shooting, I struck a pose which hurt my arm immensely. This coupled with heat, lack of sleep, challenging shoes and 8-10 second exposures meant that I went into 'Silent Halohid mode'. A few photographers out there have encounted Silent Halohid. She tends to emerge when I need to conserve energy: put me in a ridiculously tight corset or be the sixth photographer to work with me in the space of six days and I will need to conserve energy.

I took this photo after several hours of silent posing. I was back in my clothes and we had to race out the door for fear of incurring the wrath of the owner but I still stopped to take this and escaped in one piece. What my self portrait does not show is the car breaking down when I tried to leave the car park and me sitting waiting for the RACV. It also doesn't show that I had come to the shoot straight from a meeting with another photographer and that I spent the evening scheduling rehearsals. In short, it was a rather stressful day but I ended up on the couch, cuddling my beagle-girl, eating mango frozen yogurt and watching Angel. Thus endeth Day One of this epic challenge.
