This is exquisite!
Every piece of art should tell a story. I don't mean a plot, a problem, a resolution, details. I mean a story. Something you can believe is real. Something that has meaning. Something that changes the way you see things.
I really like this technically as well, the lineweight and shadowing, the off-kilter angle that puts you off balance, the expressive posing, the stylistic economy of the coloring.
