Sadly, the only Power and Energy I can see in it is the tightened bit, "abusing" the poor horses mouth. Technically, this is a nice pic, but the force and tortured look ruin it to me.

I get what you're saying, but remember that a photo is only a moment in time which can be deceiving based on the fact that this is the only moment you've seen of this pair. This was a strong horse in a jumper class approaching the last fence after a fast corner. No need to critique a photo whose situation you don't know. Thanks for the comment though, I do get where you're coming from, but I remember this ride clearly and this was literally one moment I managed to capture out of so many throughout the course; the rider was effective and only used her rein like this as a "check" to shorten the horse's stride to the fence to avoid an accident.
