Aaah, finally this is done! I've been working on this for a week already, I think. This is my first "tutorial" ever and I guess I should've picked an easier topic, lmao. Anyways, people often tell me they like the way I dress up my characters and the outfits that I draw so I thought this would be a nice one. Specifically this one was requested by todachios .

This topic is huge and I tried to summarize it as much as I could and cover the basics and mostly the stuff that goes through MY mind when I'm designing a character's outfit. I hope it's not too confusing and that it's helpful to some of you.

Feel free to leave any questions as well as any suggestions for upcoming tutorials. Comments are always much appreciated!

Need inspiration? Check out these sites I normally visit!

1. Polyvore - What I like about this one is you can search for keywords and it will show outfits that are related to it. There's a really cool outfit meme that you can do and it will help you as well. Check it out here: Re-do: Meaningful Outfit Meme .

2. TokyoFashion - In my opinion, there's nothing more original and unexpected than Harajuku fashion so this is always a great inspiration, specially for edgier OCs.

3. StreetPeeper - Street looks from the most fashionable cities in the world. There's always interesting stuff to look at!

4. Vogue.com - My favorite parts to look at are the Runway photos where you can see whole collections or the Trends section where you can check out the season's latest trends. This is specially useful for fashion victim characters, haha.

5. ShoeLust - A lot of people have no idea what shoes to give their OCs. If you need footwear inspiration this is the place to go.

There are of course thousands upon thousands of blogs you can look at on Tumblr or Pinterest boards that will serve as inspiration but here are some of my favorites:

6. C-Coii - Not only are the outfits awesome and the models precious, but the pictures themselves are a beautiful thing to look at.

7. Ye Olde Fashion - Need to know what fashion looked like in a certain era? This is the place to go!

8. Morbid Fashion - If your character leans more towards the dark side then you need to check out this blog.

9. FYeah Chubby Fashion - Need inspiration to dress up your bigger girls? There's many ideas here with many different styles!

10. Fashion Fever - Just fashion and style inspiration in general. Pretty pictures always inspire~
