XD true....that is a point! I would be careful about further breaking the doctor's hearts....he has two hearts but he has more sadness in him than most could fathom, he is forever (in the end) alone and when he meets a bright spark of light (a companion) it gets snuffed out or it diminishes then eventually flickers out or he loses sight of the light and he is alone again unable to reach out to anyone as he is afraid he will kill those fragile lights by being himself....he is weary in his age and has seen both many horrors and fantasies that would send most ordinary people (or aliens) insane..... he has managed to keep ahold of himself so far but with each passing of a companion, of each light that gets blown out cracks start to show in his outer facade......
