Well actually no, since while you are right and PEI was the birth of Confederation, these are the provinces that were the first to join it in July 1st 1867; PEI didn't join until July 1st 1873. In fact at first PEI didn't WANT to join confederation for quite a while, but then we buckled because of financial reasons. Mostly since back then (and even now sometimes) we were pretty stubborn and too filled with pride.
source: living in the province my whole life.

Well no, since we're still part of Canada; even to this day. We just didn't want to join Confederation at the very beginning, until we caved in because of financial troubles.Β

Yes, because they were in debt because of the rail roads (which are now walking/bike/snowmobile trails.) Β

That wasn't built until 1997, but back in the early days of confederation; there was talk of a fixed link between PEI and New Brunswick. We had a habit of putting "Confederation" in the names of things. Here's a list
Confederation Bridge
Confederation Centre of the arts (or as I and my folks nickname it, the confed centre.)Β
Confederation Court MallΒ
Confederation TrailΒ
But it makes sense, since like you mentioned; PEI is the birthplace of confederation.Β

also at one point new brunswick and nova scotia wanted to join together and become their own province (represented in the project by NB and NS's 'marriage'). if that were to happen now, wouldn't PEI be like a daughter-in-law?

Possibly, I guess? I actually have thought up my own version of the PEI character that I thought up a few days ago.Β

Well I don't own PEI, it's just a sort of an interpretation of the character. With my version; she sort of has two different personalities; one is old fashioned and is determined to keep things the same, consequences be dammed. While another side is more modern and tries to change things for the better. I'm still trying to work on it, but that's what I got so far.Β

Yes, specifically and interpretation I thought up. It's a girl named Charlotte Summerside (named after two of the major Β cities; Charlottetown and Summerside.) Β

charlotte summerside? quite a clever name, and it sounds like a children's book series (like anne of green gables). does she look like anne of green gables?
