Description
Another Snape, because, frankly, I can't seem to stop myself. XD School-age, maybe 4th or 5th year, unlovely and unloved. Poor, forgotten boy.Comments and hints are welcome. I'm really new to digital media, so the more help I can get, the better!

Overall, a wonderfully dark, moody piece, with all the emotion your work usually expresses. Good high- and low-lights. Dramatic, angry emotive eyes.
Constructive criticism: Should you ever choose to do some reworking on this piece (and I know you often do) the one place it falls down is the lips. Not the shape, by all means keep that sneer, but there is too much "gloss" and even color. End result is a bit like a teen girl who botched her lipstick. And this is SO not a portrait about Snape looking in the mirror saying "this is a bad lip color for me...." which a rude niggling part of my mind elbows me with (hits it with a sledgehammer); Sorry, please ignore Rude Comedian Muse. Back on track, I dislike seeing this one flaw in an otherwise extremely well done, mesmerizing portrait.

His eyes are so incredibly fabulous! I love how you managed to make them black, yet also show a distinct pupil and iris as well.
What was the nose job? Did you give him some needed plastic surgery?

He's described a bunch of times as "sallow", which is a yellowish tone to the skin. Greyish pallor works for me too, though; so long as he's not tan or rosy-cheeked.

He was so self-sufficient, in those days. Ironic that a man who so badly wanted to control his own destiny should fall beneath the lethal control of both Dark and Light.

You've got the light-source above him - the upper areas of cheeks and lips are illuminated - so his nose should be light on top and reflecting light from its starting-point between his eyes out to where it changes direction, and then from there down to the tip should be slightly darker.
As to where it changes direction, his nose is usually assumed to be hooked in the sense of a "Roman" nose, bent at the bridge, and I've drawn him that way myself; but Rowling's own sketch of him shows him with a straightish bridge and then the end of his nose hooked over from a point midway between the bridge and the tip.

I prefer the "bent as though broken" approach to the nose, myself, simply because I am familiar with that kind of a hook nose shape, so it's what I picture in my mind as I read the books. But all Snape noses are beautiful!

Oh, yeah. I'm not terribly good at drawing noses, in general, and oddly shaped ones that I can't find a good reference for, in particular.

It may sound odd but you could always model one out of some sort of clay (if you know how) and it would help figure out not only the shape but also the shading which would help as well.

I actually really like the crook of that lip. I don't think people should ever be perfectly symmetrical and that lip gives him that snide character :3
