They had walked through a maze of caves and dark tunnels, and her pupils had trouble adjusting to the bright light. She closed her eyes. She could feel the sun caressing the warm rocks, the water cascading on mossy stones... And, all around them, the magic flowing in endless spirals. He spoke to her, slowly, and his voice seemed to come from everywhere around them, in harmony with the water's song and the murmur of insects:"You have been afraid of talking to the world, of dancing with its magic for too long... yet it doesn't blame you, it never will. Open your wings, my child, and fly with the light..."

I'm getting better at environment paintings \o/ The goal of this one was to work on light... Having fun with hanging moss and strange rocks was a bonus ^^ I hope you'll like it!

J'ai une période de doute j'ai tenté un croquis préparatoire pour une nouvelle illustration mais ça n'a pas tourné comme je me l'imaginais ^^ Je vais essayer un peu de speed paintinf et un style plus relâché bientô.
Puis-je te demander si tu veux bien me mettre dans ta watchlist ? Enfin si c'est pas trop inconstant à ton goût

Thank you for your honest critique! I agree, they seem a bit off... I wanted to make them look different from the rest of the painting, but it didn't work as well as I expected :/ Maybe I'll paint them again, using textured brushes similar to the ones I used for the rest of the painting, this time!

Oh, that's a fun coincidence ^^ What kind of place is it, in your own world?

The world is from a german RPG System with a setting in a fantasys medieval Schottland ( there are other places as well). The story I tell in that adventure had a lot of inspiration from various fairy tales, celtic legends ( tir na nÓg) and books with a people that went " under the hills" to evade colonisation by a new people ( some hundred years in their past). The heros had a first "encounter" of sorts in a barrow similar to the one in Newgrange, Ireland. But on the long term they are supposed to find the people in a large cairn site with the entrance looking like your work, and then the second part of their adventure will start.

Thank you for sharing it with me! I was inspired by similar background stories when I painted this (a subtle form of magic, like in English or Breton fairy tales, and magical underground places), which probably accounts for some of the similarities in our ideas

Merci ! Non, c'est pas voulu, je ne m'en suis aperçue qu'en cours de route... Au début, le dessin ressemblait surtout à une grosse patate, et j'ai passé un bon bout de temps à essayer de le faire ressembler à n'importe quoi d'autre qu'une patate géante ^^
