When I think about the word "Dark", I think of the level "Lights Out" from the first Crash Bandicoot. (As well as its harder variant, "Fumbling in the Dark")

This level may be eerie with it being really dark and you only have Aku Aku as your source of light, but nothing compares to Slippery Climb and the cut Stormy Ascent (now DLC in the N. Sane Trilogy).
Still, these types of levels give me the heebie-jeebies...
