Man, Pohatu is giving me troubles, isn't he?My THIRD version of Pohatu, but this time I think I've got it. I've finally got tan and brown pieces for the legs, so here he is. He's taller than the other rebuilds thanks to the parts I used for his legs, but as a Toa of Rock who is also bloody fast, I figured the long legs would be helpful. I opted to keep his arms simple so that he looked skinnier and more like a runner. Yes, there's still some orange/yellow on his chest and back, but A) I don't have many options for those areas and B) his future forms have it so I'll let it slide. When he's running, he lets his arms fall back behind him, and his shoulder armor can be used as drag chutes to slow him down. And in the name of the Great Spirit Mata Nui, I am REALLY getting sick of this guy by this point.

EDIT: I just realized that the shoulder armor can fold down to streamline his chest even further when he's running. Neat.

Yeah, but only like four of them, and they're kind of awkward pieces. I suppose I could do something with them, but it wouldn't be all that pretty. But those nice greens would look good on my Lewa.

Hmm... I really think the orange is probably the worst part here. I did some Mata rebuilds a while back, and Pohatu was the hardest simply because of the utter lack of decent brown and tan pieces.
Anyway, I think the main problem here would be the orange, which is rather distracting from the rest of the MOC, and it doesn't blend well with the rest of the color scheme. Gunmetal grey or silver would probably be your best option here, but it still probably wouldn't look right. If you have duplicate pieces, you can always repaint the part using a sharpie or actual spray paint. I know one of the new (and extremely crappy) Hero Factory sets has some brown in it, but I don't think any of the pieces could be used here, unless you could figure out how to use a 3.0 large claw piece for chest armor.
The best bet here is probably improvising until they release a brown or tan HF chestplate (which could be soon, since color schemes get more and more unmatched with each wave), but I don't see it in the near future.

Yeah⦠I was really annoyed that his M/P version had orange armor. I had to go for Glatorian sets for the tan and brown ones. I "justified" the orange by pretending it was a call forward to his future version, but the orange is just so ugly. I'm actually holding it now in my hand with the orange removed, and it's a pretty good improvement⦠I wonder if I bought that brown Bohrok's shield and used it as back armor if it would help? Probably. And Bricklink's sure to have it.
Actually, I'm planning to use Ogrum to fix up my Lewa figure so he has more of the good dark green pieces. And maybe Bruizer's rocky armor might work⦠that stuff is gonna be hard to use. Heck, I'm probably not even gonna BUY him, at least Ogrum can help my Lewa build.

Well, I've done Tahu Nuva, but unfortunately, I've used up a whole lot of the pieces that I've been using for my stuff, and I kind of like them too much to dismantle them. I'd have to go shopping for more parts, like the Av-Matoran bodies and the Bohrok-Kal arm pieces and stuff like that, but I probably could do it at some point.

Only thought: maybe something on the hips where you have those ball joints, since the original had the upside-down torso? Just a thought, it's definitely great as it is.

I did try that, I really did, but it just didn't work out, unfortunately. Pohatu felt really unbalanced, and it looked like he had⦠something hanging between his legs that I just couldn't conceal without making it look worse. I settled for giving him a runner's body, though I suppose I could work something into and onto those extra balls on his backpack to widen him out⦠maybe.

Yeah, I did always find that slightly annoying that he was so stocky yet supposed to be fast. Then again, one of the fastest runners on my distance team is built like a brick, but still... Ah well. I think you did an excellent job.
