It's all Fimo and Sculpey. It's very simple stuff; just a precoloured, polymer based clay. I'm almost ashamed to admit, I get it all from the Michael's Craftstore. Hey, people seem to like it!
And it looks like you do too, so thank you very much!

Wow, you've seen The Cure? That'd be a cool show. I need to get into them more.
Sorry for the lateness of this and my other replies. I've had almost no time to go online like this lately.

I use two types of Polymer Clays called Fimo and Sculpey. Very basic stuff, I'm sure you've already heard of it.
Thanks a bunch, bro!

Truthfully, I just buy it at Michael's. A lame resort, but it has everything I need.

Um, isn't The Cure that one hit wonder band that made that song "Tainted Love" ? (that Manson covered by the way)

No, absolutely not. I can't remember the name of that band, but The Cure was a wild, progressive Goth Rock band of the 1980's. Great stuff. If you haven't heard them, check them out. They do a great song called Burn off of The Crow Soundtrack.

Oh, yeah. The last thing I want happening is really good Musicians being mistaken for really bad ones. Not that the band who originally wrote Tainted Love is by any means bad, though. But The Cure is a LOT better.

I'll be sure to check it out, but first who else is on that soundtrack?

hatredtheblack In reply to kissmeimgreen [2006-08-06 01:17:05 +0000 UTC]
We were talking about The Crow, right? Apart from it being one of the most fucking deadly, decently, bad assedly wickedest movies of all time, its even better soundtrack also has Dead Souls, an absolutely epic Joy Division cover by Nine Inch Nails, The Badge, a pre-Cowboys From Hell Pantera release, After the Flesh, a pulse pounding Industrial Sleaze Rock classic by My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult... Those are the ones that really stick out. It has some other amazing tracks which I can't quite place, only the bands that made them. Some of them are: Rollins Band, Medicine, The Violent Femmes... I think that's it for now. Check it out, it's absolutely classic.

Hmm, I am a Pantera fan but I haven't heard of some of those bands, I guess I'll have to check it out soon.

Ohh, The Badge is an OLD track, recorded before Cowboys From Hell was even thought of. This Soundtrack was an eclectic mix of The Underground. Pantera is quite different from most of them, though (I think) they fit perfectly amongst The Crow's mix of tunes.

Interesting, so it's different like how black sabbath's first album was more bluesy than than their other albums?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
hatredtheblack In reply to kissmeimgreen [2006-09-23 07:32:30 +0000 UTC]
No, it has the same Pantera sound, only quite mellow. Compare it to the last song on Vulgar Display of Power. (Can't quite think of it.)
But I'm not going to let your comment slide, because you've brought up a great and unusual comment!
Yes, Black Sabbath's first album had a strong Blues influence, as Tony Iommi was trained as a Blues Guitarist. Cool that you noticed that, too!

Yeah, since I also listen to bands like Hendrix and Cream I thinks it's`really cool that for that first album it sounded like (as I like to call it) "Sinister blues"

'Sinister Blues'. It totally works. Like the term 'Goth Punk' it's a little inaccurate, but totally describes the genre.

Oh yeah! Sorry, remeber I'm working on my Dad's computer so I can only acsess it when it's convinient for him. Sabbath's actually been referred to a lot of things actually they've been called "Sludge metal" and "Doom metal" as well as of course being referred to as "classic metal"

Doom Metal takes it pretty far, but the tempo of the first album, namely Black Sabbath itself would certainly set foot to the dark and demonic melodies of Doom. Check out My Dying Bride if you've never heard of them. CLASSIC Doom Metal.

No, formed most likely around the late 80's, then gathered their fame in the early 90's. LIke all Doom Metal, they're a lot more popular in Europe.

Are they German? because I did hear a few of their early tracks on allmusic.com

hatredtheblack In reply to kissmeimgreen [2006-10-29 21:02:01 +0000 UTC]
No. By now their lineup has probably been disected and rearranged with all different creed, but they were originally formed in England. Their former keyboard player Martin Powell recently ended a few-year stint with Cradle of Filth (as Martin Fowl). I'd like to find out what Powell/Foul is up to now.
I wouldn't be surprised if he rejoined My Dying Bride.
If you want to check them out further, I would reccomend the album The Angel and the Dark River. I've not heard everything they have to offer, but that's their most ambitious album that I've ever come across.

I wouldn't be surprised if they actually used some sort of neat dead language in their lyrics. That would show how creatively dynamic they are.

i read some of their lyrics as well and man there's some great poetic pieces in that lot, like you said classic Doom metal and I honestly thought Evanescence wrote good poetic verses!

They're very crytpic, yet very classical. I've heard their new album is great. Evanescance is a band that's never really done a whole lot for me. They're playing in Edmonton soon, I don't suppose I'll make it.

Oh, of course. Nightwish is mainstream, nothing new to me at all. They wouldn't be bad to see, though I don't know what they'll be like now that Taarja is gone.

I don't really relate to Black Sabbath with Dio. I LOVE the intro on The Mob Rules, but that doesn't speak much for Sabbath.
I'm just so in love with their debut album. I just LOOOOOVE its darkness.

Well, at least you're not one of those "You listen to any Sabbath album without Ozzy on it YOU DIE!!" folks.
Granted Dio and Ozzy are completely different artists (In the lyrics department Dio focuses mostly on medieval stuff like Dragons, rainbows, and kings while Ozzy's stuff seems to focus on insanity and drugs.) but I consider "Heaven and Hell" to be one of Sabbath's best albums and Dio certainly made a huge mark on the band's history. (After all, Dio is WAY better than Tony Martin)

Of course not! Criticizm is always welcome. But this one in particular (I'm sure you're referring to Lucia, too. I'm fixing her up soon) his mouth really looked this way. Robert Smith has quite a large chin, but I did emphasize it more with the sculpt. Thanks for the compliments!
