Very powerful and challenging photograph. I think it vividly depicts the extent of our surveillance society. The rust around the mirror alludes to our sense of freedom being erodded under the weight of government and corporate intrusion.

The title refers to the fairytale of Snow White, yet we see no "whiteness" in the sense of purity in this piece. Thus there is an ironic portrayal of the loss of childhood innocence in our contemporary world. We have instead a decrepit, decaying reality. The frightening immediacy of this and the statement made about our society is well captured here.

I also love the bricks around the mirror, how they depict the hegemonic fury of our consumerist age. I see them as meaning that we cannot become the fairest of them all without burying ourselves in all the latest products, and even then we don't stay fair for long. The way you combine consumerism, the end of innocence, and total surveillance - three extremely thought-provoking themes - all in one photograph is very inspiring for other artists. I hope to see a lot more.

Thank-you for your descriptive and thoughtful comment on my street photography. I am pleased that  you were able to separate the different pieces of photography in the photo and break the objects down in a descriptive context.

There is a secret meaning and you are quite right mentioning the element of a fairy tale in the photography. There is certainly an element of strain in the photo which is the rust falling down beautifully from the actual mirror itself.

I strongly wanted to express my distaste for the government and their corporate intrusion which you have picked up beautifully. I sense you are a a highly experienced artist and critic, you word the inward and outward view magically and I am please to read such a welcome piece of honest and talented writing.

I am glad to inspire other and only hope to continue to inspire and develop my inward and outward views portraying them in my photography.

All the best
