That time of year. Just finished my holiday card design for 2023. Always a fun excuse to paint winter scenes. The final step is adding the snow effect. First I watered down gesso and chose an old used up brush. then loaded the brush and tapped it on a finger over the the painting. Then to add tohelarger splatters and streaks I loaded the brush and just flicked it over the whole image. This was all done outside on the porch on a piece of cardboard. I don't need white paint on the carpet. This effect is lovely but kinda scary as I don't want the paint to land on important details like the eye. Lucky this time but it can be wiped off when wet. Now just need to add the text, layout, print, cut, fold, stuff, address and get into the mail. 11xz14 acrylic, coloured pencil and gesso on illustration board.
