amazing pose! great attention to detail. for example, i love the noseband on the halter. the image seems balanced and the anatomy looks properly proportioned.

Great piece. I'm not a fan of horse-art but this is incredible. I love how you captured the movement and how you positioned everything. Nothing seems to be out of proportion besides the hand that is up in the air. The shading is great...especially on the cowboy. Well done.

Wow! Thanks for the great compliment! It's gonna be awesome once framed. It's getting a nice warm-gray mat with a black edge, and a barn wood frame. I might even add a little barbed wire to it, we'll see. Hubby's gonna LOVE it!

Great job!! I guess drawing is like riding a bike...you never really forget how. I love the details. You said in your journal that you want to try some paper with smoother texture. Get ahold of some Bristol board. It's soo smooth and very addicting to work with.

hcklbry In reply to ApplesCarrotsnGrain [2007-11-15 15:57:26 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! I noticed a lot of artists are using that Bristol board, I'll have to check it out.

It is a little differnt to work with than most drawing papers but there's no texture to interfer with details and such. It takes alittle getting used to but it is so much fun to work with.
