Lucky dog! I've been wanting to re-read that also ever since drawing Balder in this classic armor! Have to hunt these issues down. Loved Walt Simonson's run on Thor! Beta Ray Bill rocked! I'm currently working on Frog Thor!

I love Simonson's run as well, just the best Thor issues! oh man! THor frog that is too cool, brings back a lot of great memories! yeah, Balder limited series was a lot of fun to tie into the main series...,man, like we said before, those were the great days of comics.

I've started getting the TPB's reprinting Walt's run on Thor. Never bought a single issue of Thor until Walt's first issue with Beta Ray Bill! You could tell that Marvel just told him to go crazy with Thor, I believe it wasn't selling well at the time and they must have felt their was nothing to lose! Great times indeed!

I collected it as Thor came out, man I still remember walt's cover on his first issue of Thor, amazing stuff. thats true, sales were bad, and Marvel let him have a lot of fun with the series.

Isn't it funny how vivid a memory certain comics can be? I remember too, buy his 2nd issue of Thor, going home and reading it, then running back to the comic store to find the 1st issue! I was so happy to see they still had it! I don't think their's been many times in my life where I've experienced such utter happiness! (Well except for the birth of my son, getting married and such!) But just that innocent, being young happiness that only comics provided!

I agree Jacob, It's that cool young happiness of wanting to see and read the comics and how they excited us I miss. I still remember as a little kid being able to look at my brothers comics for the first time, and I saw the cover for Shogun Warriors #2 he just picked up! lol I was hooked from then on. man those were the best days like you said, I just wish I could feel some of that again lol, but alot of times when I walk in the shop, I just shake my head on what I see. yeah, getting married and having a kid when be the best as well!

I collected Shogun Warriors too, loved the vs. Godzilla issues! I still collect here and there, but your right, the magic isn't quite the same anymore! I think it's because comics are catering to a much older audience than back when we first started buying them (You know HOW i FEEL ABOUT IT!) Wolverine was such a cooler character when he wasn't in like 5 teams and about 10 titles a month! Uncanny X-Men with Byrne and Claremont was probably my Zenith of comics!

lol your so right, wolverine was a better character back then. I remember going grocery shopping with my mom and when she was there, I would hang out at the comic rack the whole time lol, but I still remember seeing the cover to the Wolverine limited series by Claremont and Miller, man that cover blew me away as a kid. those were the days

The only reason I'd go with my my grocery shopping was to check out the comic spinner rack! (And beg her to please let me buy some!!) I think I'm going to come-up with the top 10 comic covers that blew me away as a kid and get back with you on it later! You too!
