Oooh, you know, I studied up on the entire group once and found some I never knew about. The ones that were always shown included. Grandmaster, Collector, Gardener (as you said) Contemplator, Champion, Runner and Possessor.
In some random Quasar and Silver Surfer issues I discovered the lesser seen Astronomer, Trader, Caregiver, Judicator, Explorer and Obliterator.
Then it turns out EGO the living planet was one, or at least became one?
The only one I couldn't ever find was the Architect. Hemm, will you find him/her? We shall see eh?

i remember seeing the hulk take the gardener's gemstone and smash it thru the ground. ( i thought for sure we'd see jarella be ressurected from the gemstone... marvel fumbled that ball )

Nice comic history reference Lee! Even though I don't remember that specific storyline, it really sounds interesting!

i remember it being 247 or 248....i'll go check it out...ok, here it is...The Incredible Hulk #248: The Gardener holds the Hulk in vine restraints and tells the Hulk that Jarella will be laid to rest and animals take her body away. The Hulk gets agitated so the Gardener uses his Soul Gem and allows Bruce to be in control. The Gardener tells Bruce his story and then says that he must leave the valley. Bruce calms down enough that he actually reverts back to human form. Bruce loves Jarella so much that he decides to go back into the jungle and find Jarella. Meanwhile, the people of K'ai wait outside the Valley of Life when the animals suddenly come charging out. Bruce stops for a drink of water when the water attacks him. He becomes the Hulk and tracks down the Gardener whose animals are still carrying Jarella's body to be buried. The Gardener sends the animals after the Hulk and he easily defeats them. The people of K'ai see evidence of the Hulk's fight and it inspires them to fight on. The Hulk and Gardener go one on one and the Hulk defeats him. He takes the Soul Gem and sends it into the core of the planet. The animals become docile and plant life grows all over the planet. The Hulk takes Jarella's body and buries her finally. A green flower immediately grows up from the grave, a final way of saying good-bye to the Hulk. The Gardener touches the Hulk and causes him to grow and leave the planet of K'ai once again.

Nice storyline review Lee! Cliffs Notes for comic books, much better than the synopses in the Official Index to the Marvel Universe I tell ya! Really makes me wanna track these issues down and devote a 5 character theme week to!

The Stranger always fascinated me too. Even reading and re-reading his history, I am still not too sure what's up with him. Marvel should do an ALL cosmic mini series. They could really set up and establish who and how they all interrelate, moreso than they have in the Infinity Gauntlet and other series.
The Surfer issues were great. The Elders were gathering on EGO to work out a plan to destroy big G. Didn't work, Galactus even ate some of them.
Cosmic week! WOO!

True, the Stranger has interacted with almost all the Marvel U superheroes over the years! Turning Magneto in a infant, pretending to be the Beyonder during the comic series, Beyond, and more that I can't think of at this moment.
I would love for them to collect those Silver Surfer issues in a TPB! I love Galactus and his heralds, which reminds me of a theme I've been dying to do, "Galactus' heralds!"
And Cosmic week is a for sure, just not sure when! LOL!
