yeah it's too bad what happened to Brock Jones but for what it's worth the Torpedo legacy was carried on in the New Warriors comic book.

I thought he had one of the best death scenes in comics. It was literally like a horror movie ending where the good guy lost.

No one expected him to go down the way he did to the Dire Wraiths! If memory serves me right, his entire hometown was wiped-out also. That scene where he gets done in still haunts me, great comic book panel work!

I have the issue, its like the worst case scenario of Invasion of the Bodysnatchers. Brock Jones comes back to his home town, and at his welcoming party he realizes everyone is a Dire Wraith. They pretty much reveal while he was away they killed and replaced every single man, woman and child in the town and he fights them in a blind rage until he gets overwhelmed by them and is killed. I thin if he hadn't had an open air design on his helmet he could have survived.

i actually owned the issue where brock gets the suit. it was in daredevil 126...also had his marvel premiere issues.... he became my 2nd fave "non owning a comic book of his own" after 3D man. i really hated that they went and killed him in rom 50. haven't checked who has his costume now or if it's altered in any way...really don't care as brock was the torpedo. thank do doing him justice here,jacob! i miss him almost as much as rom! you truly rocked this week's offerings,buddy!!!! thx.

I don't know if your old enough to remember or heard of this. Barber Shops would get subscriptions to comics for kids when they came in. Torpedo was one I remember along with Spider-Man and The Hulk.These comics would get read and who knows what kid boogers or whatever would be on them too.

I too fondly remember my trips with dad to the barber shop and reading mostly coverless comics while pops got his hair cut first! Good times! Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four were the one's that come to mind!
