This is Yuko and her little kitty Kiwi. I shot all day with Yuko, after we wrapped I shot one roll of black and white and I think that this is my favorite shot from the whole shoot.More of Yuko to come....

Oh my fucking god, that's so cute. As was said before, I love the negative space. I also like the rough edges, it gives it a very...well, homely, comforting feel.

That kitty...! awww... Black kittens are just adorable. Cat shots are cute, but it makes them even better if there's more than just a kitty in it. So I really like this. Hmm...maybe a bit too much negative space, but this works well like this too.
And...how did you get the kitty to behave himself? My cat would never sit that still, not to mention looking at the camera.

It's an excellent piece... both look like they belong to each other...

The idea of rendering half a facial profile with all that negative space to the left isn't exactly new, but you executed well. What makes it for me though is the introduction of the kitten. There's a wonderful relationship between the two visually in repeating elements - eyes, noses, hands/paws, etc. The hairline of the model adds a finishing touch in the way it frames the all the elements creating a strong sense of unity. Flashback - feels like I'm back in 2D design class again.
The only piece of constructive criticism I'd offer is the light has a little more glare and a little more harshness than I'd like to see. A softer, more diffused light source and/or the use of a reflector to soften some of the shadows would have added just a little more "wow". A minor nitpick that doesn't take away from the image in the least. Nice job.
