Let's hear it for original titles, woohoo! Seriously... I sat for several minutes trying to come up with something interesting. Like a bit of poetry or something... But I failed, so there you go!My brother took this actually... But I was there too! Tyler just happened to be the one with the camera *shrug* I thought it was a pretty awesome shot, so I'm submitting it for him

Very groovy... I like it... I tried taking piccies of the sky once... there's one in my gallery which is just... crap, quite frankly. But the other one was beautiful in real life... and I took the photo to preserve the memory BUT! I left the flash off. Damn.
I would've given it a title like "PINK SHEEP?! IN THE SKY?!?!" 'cause the clouds look like little pink sheepies! *waves flags* or a classic like... "HEAVEN..." and the rest... I could go on for hours...
But I won't.
Very cool piccy though. Like the contrast of the landscape... makes the sky much more... iunno the word, but it works well!

I had this whole concentration in art last year, all my art had to have something to do with sky because I tend to stare at the sky often, even while driving (Warning: ahemm, kids don't try that while driving....if you drive....?) well, that whole rant was just to lecha know that it brought back memories of me looking up billions of pictures of sky, woo fun times.

The funny thing was, when I went outside I thought "This would make a fantastic painting!" and my mom said "If somebody painted this, you'd think it wasn't a real sky" lol. It would make a beautiful painting, wouldn't it?

ya it definitely would! when i was driving in illinois i saw the most fantastic sunset! it almost looked unreal! and i thought to myself "wow this would make an awsome watercolor painting" unfortunatly i didn't have a camera

Reminds me of when I used to live in Alaska, one day my mom and I were ouside for a walk, the clouds had such a vivid tint of red to it that it was.. scary. <_< sky war... ^___^ yup, great picture! My dad would love this pic, he would say "Yup, just a right amount of land air and sky to it!" He's got this thing of that every picture must include land, air, and sky... I guess it makes things pretty evened out.

Yeah, there's kind of a thirds rule in nature photography composition... Obviously, you don't have to follow it... but it's useful. Make it one third foreground, one third middle ground, one third background. Doesn't really apply to this one though...
Did you see the aurora borealis when you were in Alaska?

Yup, a lot. but most of the time they were pale colors, it's pretty rare to be in vibrant rainbow colors. It was like that once though, those move really fast around the sky and don't last very long before they fade back to more pale colors like pale green, pink, and white. Aurora borealis, northern lights. ^___^ those things are so pretty. But they come up usually very late at night, and whenever we catch a really pretty, by the time my dad can get the camera from the house, it's not like that anymore. The shapes they appear in are really pretty though. One it was like a hand.

actually sunrises are pretty nicer, because in the afternoon is often cloudy near the mountain located here, so just rather seldom there are really nice sunsets...
