Description Mini studio time!

My bearded dragons Mushu (orange) and Kiwi (tan).

I thought I would be chasing these guys all over the room but they were fairly well behaved until they got bored.
A few of these will probably be moved to scraps after I ponder them for a while.

Edit: Rest peacefully Kiwi, you will always be loved...December 2, 2006.

I like the composition in this photo... the triangle formed draws in the eye quite well.

The lizards themselves are quite cute, too.

Thank you! I like this one too for the same reasons, but it hasn't gotten as much attention as the other ones!

"Reptiles are cute? Wow! They are!" That seems to be the general theme with all this attention.

Awww! I have beardies of my own! Spykke and Spyrro! I have to regulate eating patterns for Spykke because she is overweight...We keep thinking she is pregnant, but I don't know...I love the color of your sandfire! Absolutely stunning! Both of mine are regular tans...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HeatherTelesca In reply to Asyd-Rayn [2006-03-07 14:32:49 +0000 UTC]

Awesome! I love my dragons! Mushu just reached puberty a week ago, so we had to seperate them--the female, Kiwi, is younger so she has no idea what he is going on headbobbing about.

It's the opposite with mine, we are trying to bulk up my female with limited amounts of wax and meal worms (high fat content) but she doesn't put much weight on. Mushu in the meantime is huge! ^_~` I've got a picture of him all black and bothered in my scraps if you have a minute to look!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Asyd-Rayn In reply to HeatherTelesca [2006-03-08 22:26:36 +0000 UTC]

-grin- Aww! That is so cute...You know what is strange, though? They both do the headbobbing, but we were told that the pores on the inside of the back legs would be more pronounced on the male...Why are they both dancing about ridiculously, when only one should be a male?

Our female is HUGE! I can't believe how big she has gotten...I can bet she weighs a couple pounds or more, the way she feels. Probably a lot more. -o.o- I hope you get your female up to weight! We feed ours mostly crickets, but mealworms have been the diet lately for mine. Both of them. -grin-

I'll go check it out! I all pictures of beardies...Especially really happy ones! -lol-

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HeatherTelesca In reply to Asyd-Rayn [2006-03-09 18:11:46 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm...I've never heard anything about pores before. I do know that the male's sexual organs are in the base of his tail, so it has a bulge compared to the female.

Are yours the same age? Lizards that are close to mating/maturing together will head bob at each other--but if they are too young to mate it can really hurt the female (not that yours seems to be too small or anything). Watch for tail biting and neck biting--and if it gets too bad you may need to seperate them. Good luck!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Asyd-Rayn In reply to HeatherTelesca [2006-03-10 16:54:04 +0000 UTC]

Alright-I will check mine to see if the bulge in the tail is present on either of them.
About the same age, yes. One is just obeise...-lol-
They both do that sort of thing-usually biting around the neck. Nothing too serious, though. My Water dragon does the same thing to both of them-usually when I'm not around to stop it. I need to get a female for him soon, but it is so difficult to find a two year old water dragon that matches his size...-sigh-

Anyways, I watch to make sure(when I can) that niether inflict too much damage in their animalistic passions. -grin-

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HeatherTelesca In reply to Asyd-Rayn [2006-03-10 20:01:53 +0000 UTC]

It's fine as long as they are watched--Mushu bit the neck and tail of Kiwi so hard she was bleeding so we had to seperate them. Before he became mature they were very good buds, so hopefully they can go back together once she is older. Right now he gets all horney everytime he sees her! lol...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Asyd-Rayn In reply to HeatherTelesca [2006-03-11 16:55:20 +0000 UTC]

Awww...Hopefully you can put them back together soon...

-rofl- Poor guy...Same thing happens with my water dragon, Rupee...-^^-

HeatherTelesca In reply to Asyd-Rayn [2006-03-12 03:32:04 +0000 UTC]

LOL! The new aquarium I bought has a warranty that says "void if used for purposes other than intended use." I wonder if proper aquarium use includes the antics of horney lizards

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Asyd-Rayn In reply to HeatherTelesca [2006-03-12 03:44:16 +0000 UTC]

-helpless laughter- What kind of a label is that? -ROFL- That is a questionable matter. -snicker- The manufacturers will want to know these minor details for their Warning Labels. -grin-

The one on the left is a male right? Sonce he's so bright and much bigger then the other one, lol They both are very pretty!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HeatherTelesca In reply to AkinaWolf [2006-02-10 17:21:31 +0000 UTC]

Yep, left is male! Kiwi (the female on the right) is a little younger than Mushu so she's smaller. We are very careful to make sure she gets enough to eat since Mushu is a pig.
