Description Well, I've always have been a fan of the Pokemon games. People give it a lot of flack because it it's kinda kiddish... but, honestly they can F-off. The games have been a solid and extremely fun series of RPGs (with the sales to prove it too, lol). Anyways, I'm digressing. About 2 years ago, I started to design my own Pokemon region, with it's own Gym Leaders, badges, unique characteristics, and a few Fakemon to go along with it.

Anyways, this is the first of hopefully many things to go in on this section, the region map of Tropos (name after the Greek word for Tropics). The Region and many of the names of the locals are based off of climate and weather conditions, with a few exceptions. Even though the region is named after the tropics, it’s somewhat misleading as it does have a full range of seasons. I guess I just really like the name because of the hard “O” sound the word Tropos has, just like the major canon regions have. The way I've envisioned it, it's fitting as the weather and seasons affect the locations of Pokemon (bird Pokemon would be in more southern areas and bug Pokemon would become extremely rare in the winter), tamers you find across the region (swimmers and athletes are more abundant in the summer, rangers and extremists more in the winter) and bonuses/penalties in battle. The general area is basked of the Shikoku region of Japan, with three little added islands in the southern area.

***WARNING: LOTS OF WORDS AHEAD! LOL***

1) Eason Town- This is the town the adventures of our Hero begins. This coastal town usually experiences rather pleasant weather all year round, with the occasional light rain here and there. On rare occasions, a strong storm will sweep in off the ocean. It is best known for it's "Seasons Festivals" when people flock to the small town to celebrate the arrival of each new season. (Name based off the word Season)

2)Klima Town- Klima is a small town surrounded by forests, and is a major research center for woodland Pokemon. It has very similar weather to Eason, though due to the it’s inland location, it is well-guarded from strong storms. Klima is the location of the first Gym of the Tempest League, ran by the Gym Leader Ryan and his Tree Pokemon. (Name after the word Ancient Greek for Climate)

3)Erutan Forest- A thick lush forest just northeast of Klima Town that hosts a large variety of plant and bug-based Pokemon. During fall and winter months, the bug Pokemon go into hibernation, and many unique Pokemon who have spent their times in the mountains to the north come down into the forest to forage. (Name based off the word Nature)

4)Moncao City- The largest city in Tropos, based on population, Moncao City is the central hub of the region, with large markets, many shops, and corporate offices of WestCorp, the largest manufacturer of Pokemon products in the region. During the Spring and Summer months, the city is regularly hit by strong storms coming in from the seas. Moncao City is also where the second Gym Leader, Will, and his Fighting-type Pokemon reside. (Name based off the Portuguese word for Monsoon)

5) Virga City- Virga City has gained the nickname of “The City of Rain” by the people of Tropos due to the year-round precipitation that rolls in from the mountains to the north. Due to the ever-constant threat of wet weather, the people of the city has built Casinos, Contest Halls, and a very nice series of covered walkways to keep it’s citizens dry and happy. Another enjoyed pastime for people is to watch the city Gym Leader Mika battle with his stealthy Water Pokemon, you know, whenever he decides to show up at his gym, which isn’t often. (Named after Virga)

6) Crystal Caves- A network of dangerous, semi-frozen underground tunnels full of Ice-type Pokemon (and during the winter months Pokemon trying to find a places to hibernate as well) that is the only path to get to and from Newruz City whenever the lift up Mt. Nimbus is down for the summer.

7) Newruz City- Newruz City was built upon the sloping foothills of a mountain, and is known throughout the world of being a breath-taking city that is famous for it’s Blossom Festival and the many weddings that occur and the massive amounts of Honeymooners that flock to the city during the Festival. During the fall and winter, the city is virtually dead due to Icecliff . The city also hosts the Gym with the dual Gym Leaders Fiona and Justice and their many varieties of Eevees. (Named based on Nowruz, the Iranian New Year that begins the first day of Spring)

8) Icecliff Town- A ski resort town built near the summit of Mt. Nimbus that is popular with the people of Tropos during the fall, winter, and early spring because of it’s high elevation and long periods of snowfall. It is somewhat prone to powerful blizzards, but people still flock there to enjoy a little rest and relaxation in the snow. Icecliff is host to the 3-day Holiday Festival, where WestCorp regularly gives out free rare items to trainers who attend. During the summer months, the lifts to the town are shut down, and the only way to reach it is by using a powerful Pokemon who can climb the steep ledges of Mt. Nimbus.

9)Estas City- Known throughout all of Tropos for it’s somewhat abnormally warm weather, Estas City is city full of hot days at the beach, and even hotter nights at the night clubs. Estas has an extended summer time, and winter months are almost non-existent, so many people visit to catch a few rays. During the summer, the city can see some extremely strong and dangerous storms roll in off the sea. Estas is home to the fifth Gym in the Tempest League, ran by Scarlet, a master of Fire Pokemon. (Named after the Latin word for Summer)

10) Pula Lake- Located north of Virga City, Pula Lake is a location overflowing with Water Pokemon, as well as rainwater flowing down from the mountain, feeding the lake. The lake itself has been known to overflow regularly, flooding the land east of it, sometimes requiring trainers to SURF their way forward to the Gyms in the North. (Name based off the Setswana word for Rain)

11) Deluge Town- Deluge Town is a small town that was built elevated off the ground due to the common flooding due to the overflow of Pula Lake. Despite this, Deluge is still a very popular location for the people of Tropos to visit, most especially fishermen who rather avoid getting caught during a flood. Just like Pala Lake and Virga City, Deluge Town receives almost constant rain year-round. (Named after Deluge)

12) Automne City- The Eastern-most city in all of the region, Automne has served as the gateway between Tropos and the other surrounding regions due to it’s rather stable weather, unlike the more volatile weather-prone port cities in the south part of the region. During the fall, the trees of the area change to a vibrant red and yellows unlike the oranges and browns of most other trees in the region. It has also been rumored to be the location of the Tropos Criminal Underworld, where illegal Pokemon battles and black-market selling of rare species of Pokemon is commonplace. (Named after the Latin word for Autumn)

13) Lunar Reef- A beautiful coral reef located off the Northeast coast of Tropos, Lunar Reef has been a major attraction for sight-seers and Pokemon trainers alike due to the wide variety of tropical Water Pokemon that swim amongst the brightly colored reefs. Legends has it that the reefs themselves conceal the ruins of an ancient Pokemon temple devoted to the Moon Goddess Pokemon, Lunata.

14) Barat Town- Once one of the most bustling cities in Torpos, Barat Town has now been reduced down to yet a husk of it’s former glory. Criminal from all across the world flock to Barat now, scamming trainers out of money, items, or even the occasional Pokemon. The few non-criminals who make this town there home are too poor to afford In recent years, to add insult to injury, the town has been experience dangerous and damaging all through the year, tearing down more and more of the many abandon buildings in the city. (Named translated means Squall)

15) Porcell City- Porcell City is the heart of the Industrial Industry of Tropos. It’s not exactly the best city to sight-see or anything, as the pollution around the city has caused a bit of a haze to form above the city, causing a brownish tint to everything, but, as seeing as there is an official Tempest League Gym in the city, ran by the broody Steel-type trainer Ace, quite a few people other than workers visit the city. A side effect of the pollution has caused many Poison and Steel-type Pokemon to make the areas around the city their home. Whenever the rare storm rolls into Porcell, it is best not to have non-Poison or Steel types out as they are susceptible to damage from the acidic rain. (Name reference to solar power cells. Yeah, not a weather reference, I know. Lol)

16) Auger Town- A small town in the center of Tropos, Auger Town is hidden in the foothills of an ever-constantly misty valley and the host to around 88 small shrines and temples dedicated to ancient Pokemon Gods. Many people who still believe in the old ways of Tropos flock to Auger to pay tribute to these shrines. Auger also is host to the 7th Gym of the region, with Gym Leader Zhang, who does not specialize in a Pokemon type, but Pokemon with large, blade-like claws. (Name based off of a term for Dust Devil)

17) Tropicalia City- Tropicalia City: the place where dreams are made or shattered. With perfect weather year-round, Tropicalia is one of the most active cities of all of Tropos, and host to several, random events year-round. Other than being home to the entertainment and film industry of Tropos, Tropicalia is host to the highest tier for the Pokemon Contest Halls, and the final Gym in the Tempest Leauge, lead by troublesome spitfire Blade, and her cunning and brutal Dark-type Pokemon. (Name based on the fusion of the words Tropical and California)

18) Solas Town- A small, sunny, peaceful island town, Solas Town is considered somewhat of a rest spot for trainers getting ready to face the challenge of the Tempest League. Though it may seem somewhat boring, Solas holds a rather interesting secret for those who ask around to the right people. (Name based off the word Sol)

19) Victory Road- A network of caverns and valleys that all trainers must brave to reach Typhoon City and the heart of the Tempest League.

20) Typhoon City- The heart of the Tempest League, Typhoon City is the home of the Elite 4, the four most skilled trainers in all of Tropos. The city is shielded by the surrounding mountains from the powerful storms that form near the coastline of the island. Whenever the Elite 4 are not in session, Typhoon City uses the facilities of the League to host the Pokemon Battle League; a series of special-condition Pokemon Battles between elite Trainers from across the world. (Named after Typhoon)

21) Eutoa Town- Eutoa Town is a small, isolated settlement in the heart of one of the most volatile-weather areas of the surrounding seas. Powerful storms rage many months out of the year, yet the people on the island live on, even in the harsh conditions. Few people dare to venture to the island, yet those who will brave the dangerous seas are usually rewarded with a shocking surprise concerning the history of Tropos. (I so can’t remember what I based the name of the town off of. Sorry ^^U)

This is a good map! I like how you also based the map on a region in Japan like the in-game regions are. Alt
