This is a type portrait tribute of slash I did for my typography class at Tafe.He's one of my favorite guitarists and I like his music.

Hey, I used illustrator, i don't know i just kinder figured it out myself but a tip i can give you is just experiment with different ways of doing it that's how i came up with this and do whatever you think looks good, hope that helps somehow lol

did u make a clipping mask or try using the pathfinder tool

For the hat and the face i copied and pasted words from lyrics of guns and roses and just re-sized them and aligned them. For the hair i think i used the pen tool and for the glasses i used i think its called envelope tool...

I used the impact font for the portrait and for the word slash i forget what the font is called but i got the font from dafont.com under the graffiti category heres a site that explains how to use the envelope tool to warp text.. [link]
