I wanted to show you a portrait W.I.P. that has been driving me nuts lately (in a good way of course).I'm drawing/colouring on a soft layout paper which needs loads and loads of layered colours.
I've given up on trying to keep the shading decent
After doing the hair, the body will be easy. No-where near being finished!

(Note, he does not actually sound or looks like Gackt, he's just being silly xD but he is totally hot and awesome~) No, he's not actually Japanese, but I'm sure he likes to think he is xD His real name is Calum~ I just like to call him Karo :3

That angle is a bitch to be done and you did it well! The drawing is turning out amazing and your shades are great! Your efforts are very clear and would be a shame if let this piece behind just because it's dificult!

you should finish it. I can recognize Gackto-sama already. It would be a waste to let it be incomplete because all the effort would be gone till this point.

There were some moments when I wanted to give up...but I thought 'they are waiting to see the finished one' and that pushes me...^^

so far I think its looking great. maybe if you start coloring the hair you can then go back and figure out the shading and lighting of the skin.
honestly I haven't been coloring for a few months and now I lost some of me touch. So it means I need to start color black and white to learn more of contrast. I regret to ever stop coloring.

Awwww... thanks! Yes, that's true - I haven't fully completed the tones on the face yet. But when the hair is finished, the rest will fall in place.

Hahaaa! you lost motivation one one o your stuff as well i see, ok you know what, pick one o my stuff from the "not done yet" folders in my gallery and we'll make it a race for first to finish, the loser gets to do a drawing of the winners choice, that way i think we'l both be motivated to finish our work, deal?

In my opinion (bare in mind when it comes to drawing, I have no technical vision ^^"") I think it looks nice like that... It's unfinished, yes, but it looks like it should have an unfinished look... I know I'm probably not making any sense xD but I think the effect of it not being finished makes it more interesting :3 You should have two versions~ and unfinished one, and a finished one... Because that would be cool ^^ and since it's looking pretty damn impressive so far, who knows how impressive it will be finished : D
